Margaret
Topic speaks for itself really... So eggcited, went to collect the cutest tinyest hens ever on Sunday. Well worth the 5 hour round trip. I think the problems now start though. Big girls are not impressed, lots of pacing upand down the divided run, and quite a lot of shouting, on both sides. Didnt realise how tiny they would be so now have to go really slow with the intros, have managed it before and really need to get them to be friends before I sent them to scarey farmers wife when I go on holiday mid June Have ordered bumper bits for the big girls, hopefully will not need them but better to be organised. May try to introduce Marjorie, who is the kindest of my big girls (not to bright) on her own next weekend and see what happeneds. I know Viiolet who is lowest of the pecking order turns into a bully so need to keep her away for a while, may even leave her on her own for a few days. But will take it really slowly and if need be will have to have to seperate holiday homes for them. Any advice would be great, and will keep you posted. pips_pekins
Can't offer you any advice - the only time I have done an intro it was a complete farce and I was lucky as they all just got on with it. Just wanted to wish you luck, hope it all goes well.
daxigirl
Well what are they??? Don't say you'll got new chooks and then don't reveal all, that's mean.
Margaret
Well Daisy is the tiniest Frizzle, smaller than a Pigeon. And Lilly a black bearded Silkie I can hear you all scream with delight. So so lovely, but The Thugs are not impressed, mind you I thought they were lovely ladies until the titchies arrived, now I am shocked by their behaviour, are even trying to dig up the Auboise, and thats on concrete. Early days I know, but thought my Girlies would be perfect

Chortle Chook
I realise that size is all comparative. With little knowledge of normal sized chooks, I'd thought Lily was quite large - a Silkie in-betweenie and she does know how to keep herself to herself if bullies are about. Now Daisy I did know was a wee one, but as with many small beings, she can be quite a feisty little girl and my terrier (JR x spaniel) who is not called His Nibbs for nothing and has much bigger dogs obeying his every command, was always scared of her having had many a peck from her on his feet. Chortle Chook
So how're they getting on? Are they integrating with the big girls yet
Margaret
Well....didn't go to well letting them out to play together Put them all in the garden at it lasted about 10 mins Big girls just wanted to duff up the wee ones, Not great start, did use a new water pistol on the thugs and that sort of worked, Lily just tried to hide, And we tiny Daisy thought she would try and fight back . Was amazed, as she is so so tiny. Put them all Back in their seperat homes and had the Tinys out in the garden on their own today, while the thugs Tried to break out of their run, and shouted obsenities at them. Will try again tomorrow.
Chortle Chook
Told you Daisy is a feisty little thing . She is the Jack Russell of chickens I think, and has bags of character. I have my fingers crossed for you over these intros. Do let me know how they go and also if Daisy's head feathers grow back nicely because all this winter she was such a pretty wee thing as the photo taken back in November shows. I admit, we miss her
