It's still sub-zero, cloudier now and looks to be getting a bit warmer. There's still a heavy frost on everything.

We now have frost on frost on frost. OH and DD said that there were little patches of snow in some places on their way to work. Our fruit netting is looking beautiful. It's usually black but it's now very pretty white lace. The girls are nowhere to be seen apart from a brief outing this morning for breakfast in the greenhouse and now probably under the bushes snuggled up. Sky is moulting now - the last one to go - which is really bonkers of her!

Frosty and bright here but nowhere near as chilly as other mornings.

The weatherman says that there's rain on the way. Lots of it due tomorrow. I hope he's wrong!

-4.6deg here first thing and now hovering around freezing, extra frost too and the ground is really hard.

 

The rain is predicted to fall as snow first, making way for a milder, wet and windy weekend from the sounds of things.

It is beautiful everywhere with the frost especially all the cobwebs and the bare trees.

 

It was bitterly cold yesterday, we went out for a walk yesterday lunchtime and my OH was moaning that it was cold and he doesn't usually feel it.

 

Looks like heavy rain tomorrow then Saturday and Sunday are forecast to be sunny

I'll be hoping for sun too; I don't mind the cold so much when it's bright and cheery.

Beautiful whilst out training the dogs this morning, Scent wasn't that good for the labs due to the blanket

of frost hiding it.

Foggy came out to watch which was funny - shame i didn't have a camera with me to caputure four gundogs

and a cat!

I'm sure it started to thaw this afternoon - but the fruit netting was still white though.

We had a few tiny flakes of snow at about 3pm yesterday and it did start to thaw a little, it was a balmy 0.5 degrees at bedtime.

 

It was 5 degrees at 7am this morning that's about 10 degrees higher than the previous couple of days at the same time. Unfortunately it is blowing a gale and lashing down with rain and sooo dark.

-2deg when I went to bed, but +2deg when I got up, very dark and drizzling, the wind is getting up.

Howling a gale and rain lashing the windows. It's so warm I think I'll get my cozzie on. NOT! But really?! Minus something horrible to a high of 10 predicted today - bonkers weather!

I hear there are floods in the SW, so you might be best off in yer cozzie Val.

Not as bad as expected here.

It's pouring down but no strong winds. Maybe I slept through it all or it passed further east than expected

I think I'll spare everyone the cozzie view - it would put em all off their Christmas dinners!

Doesn't surprise me about the flooding - the rain has been consistently heavy and no let up that I've noticed. Although it suddenly seems brighter - not for long I'm guessing. The ground is well saturated so there's nowhere for the water to go. I dare them to have a hosepipe ban here next year!

The ground was still frozen at home this morning and I guess it will take a few days to thaw out. 4.6deg here, torrential rain, slightly lighter than earlier but still a day worth going back to bed for.

Very wet and soggy here today. Should have worn wellies shopping.

Rain and wind back here with a vengeance . Unfortunately as we normally get all our weather from the west I have put all the protection on that side of the chickens, today it is from the east so everything is getting wet in their covered areas .

We are finally getting our stone wall rebuilt that fell down last January after nearly a year of wrangling with the insurance company, good time they've chosen - the trench is full of water, the sides have collapsed covering the concrete footings they've put in, my polytunnel has got damaged even more, and my field looks like a quagmire from all the machinery; definitely a case of .

I hear that there are bad floods down south again; I'm sorry to hear that.

The chickens have said it all today, had gone to bed by 4pm, it is so dark, horrid and wet.
