Lesley
I seem to have lost the plot this week altogether! On Monday I went off to Aquafit wearing my swimsuit under my clothes - only to find when I got out of the pool that I hadn't packed my undies As it was a very hot day I was wearing a thin, white, cotton top Very luckily for me my sister had a spare bra in her bag as she'd been going to the gym first but hadn't made it. I excelled myself today.....I made sure I packed my undies in my swim bag and packed the eggs that I take for the ladies into a separate bag. I went off, parked, opened the back of the car and found............ a basket of eggs *shock* I'd left the whole swim bag at home this time! I went into the changing rooms and managed to borrow a hand towel off someone and borrowed a £1 for the locker. I kept thinking that I was naked in the pool as i didn't have my socks on ( we wear them to stop slipping) - nothing would surprise me any more *groan* When we came out I left my water bottle and locker key at the far side of the pool and had to go back for them. I scrounged some shower gel and dried myself on this tiny towel. No undies again of course.....but the lady who gave me some shower gel had forgotten her undies as well When I went back to the car it was unlocked! Luckily it was cool and I had a long skirt on and a little cardi so it wasn't too obvious that I was near naked again. Just shoot me now! Olly
That has made me laugh ... have you got a lot on your mind this week? I have such a bad track record of leaving things on the stove and going out, that I have to really double-check these days.
Space Chick
Oh dear Lesley
sadietoo
Oh that made me giggle... thank goodness the weather has been warm and not too windy! It's very reassuring to read that there are other people just like me out there!! I'm having to resort to tying a knot in my hanky these days to remember anything... Just reading a fabulous book about the Kennedys called "At Home with the Kennedys" (written by Laurie Graham) and, according to that, Rose Kennedy used to pin notes to her clothes to remind her to do things...I'm finding that quite an appealing idea
Lesley
I think I need a checklist in the car Yes Olly, quite a stressful time here so I'll put it down to that

craftyhunnypie
Oh Lesley it would be far easier to become a naturist! Have giggled at your mishaps. Perhaps you could wear your knickers on your head, so you don't forget them & your bra as a new fashion statement..a necklace? Here's hoping tomorrow you remember to wear your undies! Brilliant! We all love you! Emma.x
Egluntyne
How funny Lesley. Am glad it isn't just me ...although I must admit, I haven't gone out without my knickers ....yet. xx

LolaLayla
Sounds like the pool would make a lot of money selling paper knickers I have a fear of forgetting mine so keep an extra pair in the toilet bag that I take with me when I go swimming. I do have to think really carefully though before I set off that I have everything. This reminds me of a friend who had gone with her husband when he had business to attend to in London. On the morning they were to leave the hotel the plan was that he would go for a meeting and take the bags, this would allow her to leave later and look round the shops. She thought she was prepared and so he headed off leaving her to get dressed later. You can probably guess that she had her clothes apart from the knickers so she had to walk down(I think is was Oxford St or some similar large street) to M&S in her skirt without underwear to buy more. She felt very self conscious One thing I often forget to do is take pegs off my jumper. I sometimes clip them on when taking in the washing convinced I will remember to remove them and then find them when I have gone out shopping Not a good look
The Dogmother
That's made me laugh Lesley... shall I do a knicker check tomorrow morning then? I am in the habit of double-checking things as I tend to be in a hurry and forget.
chickencam
OH Lesley, you described it all so well, I needed a little giggle this morning. Maybe you should put on your swimsuit then put your undies on over the top, or it is perhaps easier to keep a spare swimming kit in the car. It is so hard to remember things when there is a lot of stuff going on, and we usually manage to remember everyone elses things and then forget our own, I have gone on holiday without night wear and socks before now and everyone else has everything they could possibly need in a seige. Take care, you are not alone
Lesley
I'm so glad I'm not alone I left out the fact that I had also arrived in the changing rooms to find I was wearing 2 necklaces - and, no, they didn't match We went on holiday the day after my daughter's wedding. We'd had a new bed delivered on the day before the wedding and had stacked the drawers from the old bed in the spare bedroom. I packed in a hurry and scooped clothes from the drawers into the suitcase...........and ended up with about 40 pairs of knickers and only the clothes I was wearing Perhaps it's not an age thing at all, perhaps I've always been like this That was 18 years ago! I shall definitely be wearing underwear at the Farmers' Market tomorrow Clare - whether I'll remember to put clothes on will be another matter

The Dogmother
I shall definitely be wearing underwear at the Farmers' Market tomorrow Clare - whether I'll remember to put clothes on will be another matter I promise not to stare! Rosie is always forgetting stuff like her gym kit/guitar/clarinet.... her excuse isn't age, but that her room is such a mess and she's about as organised as her father (isn't) the call comes when she's halfway to school, I've done all my jobs and am in the shower prior to dressing for work. Chook n Boo Mum
Not an age thing Lesley, it comes of having a mind like the lottery machine....millions of balls being bounced around at the same time....if you're lucky the right ball pops out for you...swim day is obviously not lucky
The Dogmother
I like the analogy Sha I liken it to a spinning disk, HDD or plate with lots of things on it; as new things are added, or the disk spins faster, stuff tends to whizz off the disk and get forgotten.
