Chicken boarders

Yes! I've decided I want to get some new bantams. I have just got it in my head that this weekend I'm going out to get some. Anything other than pekins. I have an empty eglu, now the dotties have grown up & moved in with the other big girls in hubby's coop - so I thought..hmm.

Decided I want a trio - as I have a male in each house. They seem to keep the girls in check & I love how they round them up at bedtime.

Now all I have to do is look around for something that takes my fancy. Watch this space!!!

Just off to the next village to pick up some Japanese bantams... a trio.

Also ordered some silver laced Polish eggs to hatch. Lots going on here chicken wise.

My Japanese Bantam are white - although look a bit dirty from the dustbath in the photo.

I've called them...Yoko, Kimono & Nip the cockerel.

Yes I have used the empty eglu for these & now have 18 eggs to put in the incy.. I couldn't just put 6 eggs in the RCom 20 now could I? Plans are that the Ancona bantams are going to new homes soon, so thats one eglu free. Then I will purchase some new houses too. Plus my neighbour is currently making some arks.

They are all beautiful but what a stunning boy! What sort of crow does he have? Is is a full one or just a squeak?

He has a hilarious crow, if you can call it a crow. It's that quiet that I didn't even notice he was crowing until hubby said " that was Nips crow". We even said that if you lived in somewhere like 'Coronation Street' you could have a Japanese bantam cockerel. Seriously I've never had such a quiet cockerel crow!

They are lovely, Nip is a handsome chap

 

Tumble has a crow that is not really a crow, I hope he doesn't get any noisier. Some of the hybrids make much more noise than he does.
