charly1979
I would appear that my girls decided that they needed to be out and about earlier than I expected and it may seem I also need to apologise to my 10 year old daughter too. This morning at 8:30 I had a break out ! Fliss and Judith were happily wandering around the garden as if they had commited no such offence and demanding to be fed with such innocence. Marilyn Prilly and Connie still in thier run also looking innocent yet rather proud they had got out of theor house. I cant be sure but I would expect it would have to be have been a team effort as they had managed to push the lid of the nesting box off. It would also appear that they did this earlier in the week hence the apology to Lydia. I had accused her of leaving it off all night after she had collected the eggs. This new flock of girlies I have are proving to be rather naughty and mischevious but do you know what I love them to bits and it makes them so much more fun too. Has anyone else got a bunch of naughty girls would love to hear your stories too

smartrus
I have a chicken called Penny (who I really should name Houdini!!) She is the leader of the pack and has made a break for it many a time, she has developed a taste for the cats food and makes straight for the kitchen! One day while my OH was supposedly minding things whilst I popped out, Penny got into to kitchen, ate the cat food, and then sat on the back of the sofa and did an enormous poop all while he was in the room and he had no idea!!! Sue
Hi there - they are really funny aren't they Many years ago one of the hens got into the house when I was going out for the day and I didn't notice. All the rooms are alarmed so whenever she moved she set off the alarm. The gardener was around, and kept checking in case it was an intruder (which it was - a feathered one ) She pooped on a cream chaise longue, and lots of other places, laid an egg on my bed, and finally made it to the bathroom which didn't have a passive, and spent the day in there eating my Gardenia - much cherished and the only one I ever got to flower, needless to say once she had scratched it out of the pot and eaten all the leaves that was the end of that Just a thought is the lid to the nest box open to the garden? If so it would be worth putting a catch on it, as if the girls can get out, then a fox could get in
charly1979
Loving everyone's stories ! Reminded me of my ExBatts Pudding and Pie who took every opportunity to get into the house ! The day I picked them up the lady said they only know what mash is so u will need to teach them, well I got them home let them out and within minutes they were inside scoffing the cats food, needless to say both Eyore and Kanga did not approve ! Re lid to nestbox I've temporarily put a brick on it until I can get a catch as I'd hate for anything to happen, plus if they do it whilst it's raining their beds going to get soaked, also don't want them out to early on a Sunday ( trying to teach them it's a day of rest and lie ins )
dancing cloud
One of my first ex-batts called Chance tunnelled into a neighbour's garden and went in to lay her egg every day. They were terrified of birds and used to put lettuce and digestive biscuits on the other side of the fence to "persuade" her back into my garden again - she really wasn't daft ! I eventually discovered what she was up to and blocked off the tunnel, but they managed at one point or another to escape into all the surrounding gardens and mingle with the neighbours
