They had their first taste of freedom today, 10 minutes free ranging under supervision!

There is no doubt that Bolt is a boy, no crowing, but he has a lovely set of head gear appearing!

I was convinced Mo and Jess were boys as well - but now I think they are girls!

Yesterday at the archery tournament in Great Glen there was a great deal of activity from tractors and combines, I said it was just like being at home I mentioned about a lady in my village who complains about the tractors going through and thinks they should only be allowed to drive 8 to 6 each day One of the other judges said well that is no different to the people who complain about cockerals they are part of life and people should get on with their lives and find something more important to complain about

 

So hopefully no one will complain about Bolt and just accept it as part of life

We are fortunate in that the village is very rural and I often hear back garden cockerels as I walk the dog, so the signs are promising

Mum is a pekin so she always look like that! They make great mums as they can carry their chicks in their petticoats

I have 4 boys at the moment (2 Araucanas and 2 Pekins), hoping to keep a Pekin boy to make babies next year but need to convince the parentals first

Lucky you that he isn't crowing......I have 2 cuckoo Pekin boys, hatched the day before you cuddled my other ones at Tasha's......one was squeakily crowing his little lungs out this morning....not 6 wks old yet .....am awaiting the final demand from DH

Nope, not a tweet from him yet He's turning into a big butch lad though! Nearly as big as Mum! They are 7 weeks old now and the two pekins must be girlies as they look no different (apart from being a little bigger). Must get some more pics tomorrow, they are very sweet!

Not without a lot of fuss Plum! And first you have to get past Lulu who still attacks anyone who even looks at them. She has been a fantastic Mum, but she has produced some very antisocial offspring
