Routledge+
Yes I do my girl is bleeding and has hardly got any feathers Edited November 11, 2012 by Guest
LottyJ1
If they see blood it will make them worse - she needs to be seperated until she heals otherwise it might get worse. Try anti peck spray and purple spray.
Routledge+
Put pine tar spray on it and hope it works
loumabel
You could also try hanging up a cabbage or a lettuce in their run as this sometimes distracts the bully and keeps them occupied. I think they sometimes feather peck through boredom. Nettex anti peck spray is another good option and I have had good results using that every couple of days. Good luck
Routledge+
Yer going to put CDs up to keep them occupied put pine tar spray on and it has worked they started pecking another one so sprayed that one thank you for every body's invoices please keep on giving me invoice thanks
loumabel
I have found they ignore CD's although I know others have had better results. As well as lettuces, mine also go crazy for a peeled apple hung up. It helps if you hang them a little above their head height so they have to jump slightly to reach it. Food always seems to be the best distraction!! you can also buy special pecking blocks that keep them busy for days. I am glad your spray seems to be helping, I would make sure you keep spraying them every few days for a while
Reikiranf
I've had to put bumper bits on two of mine as they were picking on poor little Skye who's moulting, they were that bad that she wouldn't even come out of the Eglu for food I'm pleased to say that all is well now. Routledge+
I'm going to buy bumper bits and food block for them if you didn't help me my chicken would have been in very bad danger.
Routledge+
Pleased to say we have successfully fitted the bump abit to 2 of the chickens that we're pecking the other two. We managed by soaking the bits in warm water first and having a firm hold on the chicken and a no-nonsense approach. They easily went on, without the use of the pliers. They were not too happy and sulked initially but soon came round. Hopefully that will sort them out! Mrs_B
Good luck, Routledge I had to separate one hen not long ago who was being bullied as she ended up bleeding too, and it wasn't very nice to see - but all is OK now, so I really hope the problem is resolved for you. By the way, you can sort out your signature (the pics/names under your post) so you don't have to post it each time - the instructions on how to do it are here: http://club.omlet.co.uk/forum/viewtopic.php?f=45&t=21966 x
Routledge+
Thanks mrs_B I now know how to do it and will be adding it in a minute I always wondered how to do that
