kinsk
I didn't really believe the chicken addiction thing and really didn't think I'd become a victim. I think I have from three ex-bats, I currently have 24 welsummer hens, 2 welsummer cocks, a light sussex cock, 18 light sussex eggs in the incubator and yesterday I got my 6 cream legbar girls it just seems to be very easy to accumulate just need a nice boy for my legbars now. Alis girls
I feel a song coming on "they wanted me to go to rehab but i said bok bok bok........." Thirty bantums is not a good excuse for a lot of chickens. I;ve got 4 and thats my lot or is it?

Space Chick
Yep, it's a dangerous and very slippery slope Started with 4 in a cube.... Now have 24 and 2 walk in runs I am at the "other side" of morehens where my thinking is "natural downsizing" may be a sensible idea At my height I had over

That's so funny, I think I will tell my hubby that I really only have 3 then ( I have 6 really ) And by the way, morehens disease is contagious. Angela & Ken
I am so glad I came across your post about addiction. I was feeling greatly concerned that we'd gone from 2 hens (3 last year) to 9 hens in one weekend! We went out intending to purchase an extra 3 but I just couldn't help myself. The only thing that stopped me is the size of the garden and the Cube only holds 10! 2 of our new hens are bantams, so I figure that's not a whole chicken! dancing cloud
Think of it not so much as an addiction as a way of life ! I intended to start with 4 ex batts, brought home 6 and had 12 at one point. Currently down to 2 grey girls only because this isn't my house or garden. Roll on the day I have my own place again! Mrs Webmuppet
We started off with 2 bantams and one hybrid in a little wooden house. Then got a Cube and 3 more............now we have 8 spread between a Cube and an Eglu. It would have been 7 but the lady from the BHWT talked us into having another one when we booked our ex batts ................ Our garden is tiny too.
