The Dogmother
It's been one of those days and this is the first time I've sat down all day! I managed to get the dogs out before the rain started, that was the first and last bit of good stuff all day Last night I noticed that one of Rosie's bunnies had a bad eye, they are twins and very close, 7.5 years old and very attached to each other. One of them is nearly blind and this eye didn't look good...... took them to the vet this morning; the eye was unsaveable and they'd have to remove it, but didn't think that Cupcake would make it through the GA, they looked at Hunny Bunny (no, I didn't name them) and besides being blind, which we knew, she had a really bad heart problem, sooooo I made the decision to have them both PTS. Rosie and I are both devastated. Was called round to an elderly couple who live a few doors away; the husband had had a fall in the attic room, I called an ambulance and it turns out he has a fractured hip and will be getting a replacement done on Monday. I've had an itchy eye for a few days, not in the eye, just along a small portion of the lashline on the lower lid. Went to see the optician who diagnosed a small cyst in one of the ducts which is blocked; I am to hold a heated pad she supplied against it for 10 mins, then massage it to clear the blockage. Could take up to 2 weeks to sort itself out... my main question is when do I find 10 minutes of sitting still with a pad over my eye? Oh, and my trainers have a split sole so I have a sopping wet right foot I loved those trainers. Enough Eeyoring, it can only get better

Goosey Lucy
So sorry to hear about the bunnies. A difficult decision to make. As for finding 10 minutes for yourself...you're going to have to, you need it lady! Lucy x
Luvachicken
I'm sooooo sorry you have had such a bad day. Losing my bunny Wispa was sad enough, so to lose 2 bunnies in one day, well you just need the biggest hug. I hope your neighbour recovers soon, and that your eye gets better soon too. Here's hoping tomorrow will be a better day xx
patsylabrador
You've had a right time of it recently. I gave my neighbour a notebook once and told her to write down every time she had time to do something solely for herself. She was making herself ill, never stopping. It was scary when she realised that she didn't have time to do that. So, kick back and heal that eye and look after yourself. Everybody else can wait. Sorry about your little rabbits. The Dogmother
Thanks Guys, I wasn't after sympathy, just needed to vent. I treated myself to a 20 minute lie in the bath; unheard of!
snowberry
How heart wrenching about the rabbits. Big hugs to you and Rosie, I hope the rest of the week improves considerably x

Space Chick
Oh Clare ((hugs)) I feel your pain with the trainers though, my favourite pair of Nike trainers split through the sole too, discovered on a long wet walk in Glasgow!! soapdragon
Very sincerely hope that things have improved significantly since Saturday?! Life just has a horrible habit of hitting you with everything in one go sometimes! As I read on a birthday card recently 'The years have been kind to us; it was the weekends that did the damage'
The Dogmother
Thanks A, yes a bit better now although it looks like a lot of us at this office will now be made redundant in March unless we want to drive a 60 mile round-trip to the new group head office
