Quickie update on meeeee

Recommended Posts

I am now coming off the Citalapram. In a much better place - and strangely becoming more confident. I've organised builders and chippies to sort out our stairs and front door (which may see us with a draft free winter as it makes a banana look straight). Plus our patio to be re-done. There is a steady stream of men popping into the house which would make neighbours twitch curtains normally - but they know what I'm up to. Plus another neighbour also is keen on getting her garden patio sorted and wants to see the outcome of mine!

The house is clean and I whizz around - the blooming cobweb spiders seem to have disappeared too! And because I have a nice presentable (OK with furniture older than my children and held together with sellotape) I feel so much better. Something to be proud of now - well almost. Have tried to remove clutter and lots of things have gone to the charity shops. I hate getting rid of things - hoarder me - but it has to be done.

OH is astounded at "the new you" as he calls me! The broken ankle is now a thing of the past and while it can irritate a bit from time to time, we are walking long distances - almost 9 miles on our route marches. Although I've put on weight the fitness level seems to be purdy good and I still have energy afterwards to tackle the garden in the afternoon! That is also getting under control gradually and lots of veg coming along nicely is always very satisfying.

I've come to terms with my mum's move - can't do anything about that, but recently it seems she is now spending Wednesday's with my brother (about time too). Things still niggle a bit, but I just pick up my duster and flick it out the window! Not worth analysing and then analysing again and again - or more like agonising over that any more.

So the smallholding dream is finally coming closer as OH has seen how determined I am and we are getting on much better now. He has relented. He says he doesn't mind commuting a bit further as long as it's somewhere we both love. So that is the M40 corridor and we will be having a little recce when he has his holiday later in the month. Before he just wasn't interested - at last I have mastered some womanly persuasion and I've fluttered my eyelashes so much I swear I lifted off the ground!

He reckons 2 years before we are ready. Pffffft to that! We'll see!!!!!

Well done on becoming a "new you".

I hope your fluttering eyelids work a treat and that the 2 years becomes a shorter time for you.

Why is that men always have to put a time on things ?

I would love to move but hubby always says - perhaps when the children finish uni, maybe in 5 years time ...........blah blah blah blah blah blah.

Thank you all especially Lewis's squishy hugs! ILY!!!

Yep, it's almost as though I've been scoffing Trill (makes budgies bounce with health - remember that advert?) I have an agenda now so watch this space!

Plus anyone else having depression probs - there is light at the end of the tunnel. I did try to go it alone for a long time but it did come to a head when I did need a bit extra help. Sooooo here I am in a really good place. Good wishes to those also fighting the good fight! :D

 Yup, tea eye double grr errrr!

I agree - I hate times on things - I don't even have a watch! Well I do but never wear it. Always rebelled against time - curse those wrinkles! When we came here we planned for a smallholding when the youngsters left school and went to uni or whatever. Now my two are 23 and 21, one has his house and the other still lives with us but now works with OH. So it doesn't matter if we move - she can come with us no probs. Goal posts were forever being moved further and further apart over the years. Until I took control of myself again and blew his socks off! No arguing with me buster - I'm going and you can come with me if you want but I'm not staying here! :notalk: Well I did say I fluttered my eyelashes didn't I?!!!! I used my "Ooops, word censored!"nal. No not that! I meant . . . . oh well!

So we'll be going up Doggymum's way next Monday on a scouting trip.
