clucker1
Ok, so how may words do your girls understand? I thought we could see how our girlies all fare.....does breed determine their academic ability? Ok...well my gang understand girlies....which means come here for some FOOD!! And they also understand and obey the command "IN". IE to stay IN the run. So, a total sum of 2 words! Look forward to hearing what words your girls know
auntielizzie
"Wonsumworms" (translated as "want some worms?") gets them running - in addition to the sound of me shaking the mealworm tub or brandishing the garden fork! So, not sure if that counts as a word that they understand or if they are reacting to the visual clue/sound; either way they get very excited when I say it in my high-pitched talking to the chickens voice
chuckmum6
Mine respond to "bed", when I want them to come in from free ranging! They go in, all except my new untrained ones who I have to shepherd!!
Chickabee
Mine understand bed time. That's when they all start running away and hiding from me

Princess Leia
Ours understand lots of words. They just choose to ignore or defy them... Although, "if you don't stop that, it's pie time" usually has them looking worried.
Lavenders_Blue
As far as I can tell, my girls understand absolutely zero words Although the sound of the back door opening is a different matter!
Eggasperated
Mine have worked out that when I appear with my yellow colander there's usually something in it for them. Unfortunately this has led to some misunderstandings when I have been getting vegetables for my dinner and Carol has flown over the electric fence to find out why I haven't arrived at their run .
