*more pics on page 2* Anyone in Dronfield lost a chicken?!

Recommended Posts

No, no eggs, i think she's quite young.

Ive found out, through the joys of facebook, that a friend if a friend of a friend keeps chickens on the same road where she was found so i'll give them a knock tomorrow, im sure they will know where shes from even if she isnt theirs. If not then she will be taking up permanent residence a bit further up the gar :shh: den

It was actually the auntie of a friend of the girlfriend of a brother of my partners!

But no, it wasn't theirs, I knocked on the door and showed her the picture to which she giggled and said "no, mine are just chickens!".

I'm giving up now, I haven't a clue who else has chickens round here, I've left her with my number just in case she hears of anyone.

The old coop is going in the WIR today and I am now searching for a little friend to go in with Pete :)

I'm so pleased that you are going to get to keep her

I too was confused why she was called Pete if she was a she, but anyway I thought that maybe you could call her Peta and then she would still be named after your Dad but have a girls version of the name.

Whatever she gets called in the end, she is still beautiful :mrgreen:

Yes she's all settled now thanks, she is officially called Peta (Luvachicken beat you to it :D ) and I've moved her up into the old coop but inside the WIR so the big girls can keep an eye on her. She also has a new friend... there's another thread on here somewhere with a picture of her :D

Sorry - late to the party

Gosh that is a very tricky one. Yes the bird is a silver laced Wyandotte for sure. I would say 99% sure she is a female BUT she has a very boy-ish face and very developed for what appears to be quite a young bird

I wonder if she was dumped because she was suspected to be male?

My final guess is female but not necessarily very young just small framed.
