Mrs Webmuppet
Eek I'm doing my BBKA basic assessment on Monday and LMW is doing her Junior certificate........some Omlet good luck vibes would be most welcome . Our mentor gave us a 'mock exam' and we passed ...although my frame building was a bit dodgy, wretched foundation refused to behave. Apparently the best thing to do is to put it in the fridge to keep it firm it up plus some magazines (something else foundation sized) on it to flatten it. mullethunter
Excuse my ignorance - what is BBKA? Sending positivity your way anyway

Olly
Good luck! You'll be fine, just keep calm and talk as you're doing it so the examiner knows that you know what you're doing. My biggest worry was putting some bees in a matchbox. It wasn't till after the exam when I found the matchbox in my pocket that I realised the examiner didn't ask me to do it! Purplemaniacs
Good luck MW and LMW. I am sure you will both be fine. Seems like excellent advice from Olly. Chrissie
Bramble
Oooooh, good luck ... OK, here' the dim question, why would you want to put bees in a matchbox
Mrs Webmuppet
Apparently you need 30 bees as a sample if disease is suspected amongst your bees and the best way to catch them is in a matchbox..........I have had a practice, the most bees I managed to catch was about
Mrs Webmuppet
We passed yippeeeee. Thank you everyone for your kind words and thoughts. Our bees are doing well, our mentor came and inspected our hives and declared that everything was fine.
Olly
Congratulations! It's really good to have the Basic under your belt, even if you don't want to go on and do any modules.

Well done BTW
Mrs Webmuppet
I did have to do the matchbox thing for the exam. The examiner was happy that I could do it even though I didn't catch 30! The bees were not being co-operative (black rain clouds were approaching and the bees were getting grumpy).....
