Alis girls
according to my 13 year old anyway. He was scrolling thro my texts to my ES at uni. " hi darling - hope you slept well - have a good day Mum Xxx" - ok pretty naff but I wait for his morning text and know hes ok. cant all be amusing can we? However he found a couple of howlers which I did when experimenting with predictive text " Hi darling did your drain (should be train) ticket arrive - love Mum" And one to OH " hi just put Basil (our naughty 18month old ginger tom - young buck bad lad!!) out as he keeps attacking Hon (elderly tabby) and it makes her pooh more with the stress. Hes sitting in your gravel bag under the airport" (should be carport) - another one I didnt notice had come out all wrong. Can't be funny all the time. Couperwife
I love predictive text One of the best ones I saw was when kev sent his brother a text asking if he wanted to go for a riot. He meant pint! Cathy X
Daphne
I am both boring and terse, I hate texting as I can't do it properly
Alis girls
A riot would be much more fun
Space Chick
I don't understand "text speak" I type everything out properly. I NEVER abbreviate words. My Auntie is 70 and uses text speak all the time.... Sometimes it takes me ages to decipher what she has actually said. Autocorrect gets on my nerves though, had some strange messages sent as a result, quickly followed by what the word should have been
The Dogmother
I text correctly too Debs, and would much rather ring someone than text them.
soapdragon
I hate texting and am really bad at it....co-incidence ?! I would also much rather speak to someone....also my mobile is hardly ever turned on anyway - we have no mobile reception in the village apart from Vodaphone which is sketchy to say the least and I only turn the 'phone on when I am out of the house and the boys are st school, in case of emergency. Therefore I sometimes pick up texts that are days old and have usually bumped into the texter before the message gets picked up!!!! It takes me forever to compose and send a message and I can't punctuate at all!
Valkyrie
I turned predictive text off - it drove me potty having to delete it and write it again and again! I text normally but I do love my querty - hated the other version. Yet I am still so slow. Not that it matters but with DD I tend to be answering her first text while the next 10 come steaming in! OH's cousin does text speak. I really can't be bothered reading it when I don't know what she means. I can understand when people have limits and so that's the only way to get the messaged across, but when she tells us she has unlimited texts then it's a bit pointless. I do prefer chatting though - or email.
