Heart Valve Replacement

Recommended Posts

Gosh what a shock for you :( I am assuming you are a youngster, being at Uni? I shall keep everything firmly crossed for you, I've just been through a nervewracking few weeks waiting on the results of tests, I know how you must be feeling. We have a few medical people on here, and hopefully some other Omleteers have direct experiences to share with you.

Positive vibes coming your way

Chucky Mama; I'm studying economics and finance, and I'm waiting to hear back from uni about what's gonna happen. The doctor said summer time for the op and full recovery is around 3 months.

A little wait then. I hope that you can keep occupied and well during your wait. Fingers crossed that your uni can come up with a plan for you if you feel you want to continue studying in some way.

I'm certainly not going to patronise and suggest this is just a minor op, but it's a measure of the level of medical care we have access to now that this is seen as a fairly routine procedure. The NHS carry out about 5,000 of these a year, so the surgeons are well practiced and the surrounding treatment is well understood. Moreover, as has already been mentioned, you have the major advantage of age and otherwise good health.

Good luck and a speedy recovery.
