Nicola H
Thought I would start the ball rolling with a knitting thread, I have recently taken up knitting and can't stop making the Alan Dart toys that are featured in Simply Knitting magazine............I have just finished a mermaid and have made lots of others i will get the camera out tomorrow and photograph them all. I haven't a clue what i will do with all these knitted toys but i can't bear to give them away.............. I have promised myself I will knit something I can wear, but am frightened of getting it wrong and wasting all that money on wool.

Chocobo
the most i've ever knitted is a scarf.. It's quite mishapened with a big bulge in the middle, loads of colour, and it took aages... But it's very warm I'd love to see them, always very impressed by other peoples knitting
Cate in NZ
Oh, I've got a jumper that I started knitting last winter, but gave up on it when the weather started getting warmer . I've only got half an arm left to knit and the neck................ maybe I should dust off the needles and get it finished

craftyhunnypie
I like the alan dart toys too! At the moment, I've got a pattern to knit Mr. Beans teddy. It's a standing joke with hubby, as we have a teddy bear that goes round the world with us!!!! I need to find a teddy sized suitcase as a joke for his Normandy trip!!!! (sad aren't I)? I've also started of a rectangle on my knitting loom gadget. Ever so quick to do double knitting & scarves on. I have a loopy scarf gadget, but I can't do it. If anyone wants it & promises to make me a scarf for winter, PM me & I'll send it you! I've noticed hobbycraft have some scarf kits on offer on their website. £12.99, buy one get one free - they look nice soft wool & nice colours. I want to knit a shrug, or at least something easy to knit, that I can wear apart from a damned scarf. I'd like to make a bucket shaped hat, but I can't knit in the round. The pattern for the shrug is on the Women's Institute website. I'm also registered as a kanine knitter - knitting doggy coats. I best get my skates on, or all those doggies will perish! I love , easy, quick patterns. So if anyone has any of these - please post them on here or pm me. Emma.x
Snowy
I have a lovely lacy jumper half knitted. I started it 18 years ago when I was 3 dress sizes less than I am now. Oh, and a half finished long cardigan I planned to wear for work. I started that 12 years ago when I did actually have a job.

ubereglu
OOh, knitting!!! I'm currently knitting the pirate Barnacle Bill out of July 2007's Simply knitting, after I've finished it I'm tempted to send it to my sister's boyfriend, just because when he met her friend Becca's boyfriend he was convinced he was a pirate!!! Nicola...The new issue of simply knitting is out by the way! My sister's busy making a tortoise/turtle for her friend. For once I'm so glad my mum's cupboard is stuffed full of wool, means I don't have to buy any!!!

theherd123
There was never actually a pattern so to speak Lost Sheep! I knitted two rectangles and stitched them together in the approrpiate places and left spaces for her head, wings and legs. Tried it on her and then adjusted it accordingly As Flump was featherless at the time and it was winter she needed some protection from the cold. Dancing Gal
I can knit - I've been able to knit since I was little. But I'm bad - I never finish anything. I have many many half finished cardies and jumpers around the place. I know I should be ashamed of myself.

Couperwife
I'm good at starting and not finishing things, I normally frog them (take it off the needles then pull it back on the ball its from rip it, rip it - geddit ) I looooove knitting bags, but you can only use one at a time at the moment i'm knitting scarves for my next door neighbour, she fills shoe boxes to send to children in places like uganda and the older girls like funky scarves. I've found out if I cast on about 150 stitches, I only need to knit about 5 rows and I have a reasonable sized scarf done very quickly I use the fun wool, not easy for a beginner though. if anyone is after a good range of patters, you could try www.knittingpatterncentral.com www.knitty.com www.magknits.com they are all free (yay)
craftyhunnypie
I'd like to knit some dead easy but fashionable hats, but most require dp needles. I've never used dp needles & I don't want owt difficult. I presume this is so you can knit a sort of tube? Has anyone any experience of using these needles or has any tips or easy patterns, so I can rustle up some hats & scarves as prezzies? Thanks Emma.x
