Mrs_B
Hello everyone I haven't been about on the board for a while, don't know if anyone remembers me or not - but earlier this year I lost my favourite chicken and another which I loved in a short space of time and I found myself very deflated about keeping hens. Not in a way where I wouldn't look after them, just the spark that makes me excited about seeing them first thing or wondering what antics they've been up too. I am starting to feel much more excited now - and I am due my baby any day now, so I can't wait to keep chickens with my own little one Chooks are moulting now, bless them but doing pretty well so shouldn't have any problems! Hope everyone's chooks are going well. x

Chortle Chook
Hello everyone I found myself very deflated about keeping hens. Not in a way where I wouldn't look after them, just the spark that makes me excited about seeing them first thing or wondering what antics they've been up too. That's what's happened to me. I try so hard to keep them clean and give them the best food, bedding etc. so felt very deflated last year when I lost 2 hens in quick succession from being egg bound and then a friend's dog got one this year I am looking after them just as before, but the psaz has gone a bit and I don't quite know how to re-kindle it. Luvachicken
I wonder if Mrs B has had her baby yet ?
Mrs_B
Yes, I have finally had my baby boy (15 days over in the end) Absolutely in love with him! I have only just seen to the chickens today, OH has done a great job taking care of them for the past week (it takes a lot for me to pass on responsibility when I am set in my own ways of doing things!) Chortle Chook - it's so difficult - so sorry to hear what has happened I think time does help, I am feeling a bit better as time goes, so I hope the same goes for you too x Edited December 8, 2015 by Guest

Mrs_B
Ahh thanks so much, everyone! Really kind words, I appreciate it The chickens caused a bit of an issue - poor Atlanta had a softie egg break inside of her, and the others got to her before I did! Blood all over her bottom - trip to the vets who sorted her out and everything is OK. Phew... x
