patsylabrador
I have! As it's holiday season I was wondering if anyone else has bought anything on holiday that they wouldn't dream of buying normally. I made my dubious purchase in Tokyo....it's a little comic style geisha girl who is solar powered so that her head rocks from side to side. Why did I buy that? Who knows. It's quite creepy but there it is, sitting on the window sill rocking away.
AndyRoo
When we go away we make it a point to always try and buy cheesy fridge magnets wherever we go, so I now have a 'poker chip' magnet from Monaco - does that count?
Lewis
I have a bobbing solar Sumo wrestler from Tokyo last year! I also got a chick which no longer bobs.
mollyripkim
Oh, I have one of those as well! Everything holiday I go on I buy a little thing, it has to be something a little bit naff and it all goes around the shelf in the porch. My latest addition was a little bright yellow dodo bird money box from Mauritius. It's nice as I can remember where each one came from. patsylabrador
All wonderful. I guess these are similar to the odd but meaningful decorations some of us put on Christmas trees.
Cinnamon
Lurid yellow banana liqueur from Tenerife, in a banana bunch shaped bottle................. In fact we always seem to bring back a bottle of the local gutrot, which invariably tastes wonderful on holiday but vile here
Alis girls
Sadly I seemed to have outgrown naff stage - got a tasteful magnet with a cat on from Spain and a maxi dress. They are very good for hiding the legs before a wax and I think most ages can wear. Also I had a very naff homemade one in my early teens so now i can buy a more funky one. We didnt buy any liquer. It often tastes great when you are sitting doing nothing - get it home to chilly Blighty and it soon wears off.
