Why winter it's only September?

Recommended Posts

Quite nice here yesterday....gve the girls a thorough spring clean. I've only done minimal cleans since I kna****ed my back.

They loved the clean Aubiose.

Absolutely glorious today.

I'm taking the credit for the upturn in the weather. As soon as I put the heating on...it improved. Guarranteed....every year!

It has been summery in Moray for 2 days :D

Almost too warm yesterday  when I was gardening, the sun beating down on my head gave me an headache

Warm again today as well. I've a garden full of washing drying and the Eglus and run have had a good clean :D

I was too hot last night in bed in my winter PJ's and the winter duvet on top of me , I had to stick my legs out of the side of the bed and pushed OH to the other side to keep myself cool

It was hot here too yesterday, I was mucking out in a t shirt, all sweaty. But today is a lot cooler :?

I've had the winter duvet on the bed all year except for a week, when I put the summer one on and got the thicker duvet laundered. I have low blood pressure, so feel the cold, especially at night when I sleep deeply. I hate being cold in bed,and being on my own except for the cats that sleep on my feet, I need the leccie blanket to keep me warm. Mine has an all night setting for when it's really chilly - but by then I already have my winter PJs on, thermal vest and socks.

Phil almost never has the heating on in his house - just has the open fire going in his studio where he works and wraps up. He has been known to sleep in his thermals and a woolly hat before now though  What a sex god :?

My feet are like blocks of ice in bed

I was in a T-shirt yesterday cleaning out the chickens/lawn area and filling the run with aubiose. Sounds like nothing, involved much raking, took maybe 2 hours and had the eglu run on bricks to get under it. The chickens loved that

Changed my desktop background from Katy sunning herself to Megan sheltering from the snow looking pitiful

That is interesting. I have low blood pressure too, and always feel cold in bed.

My uncle (retired surgeon) tells me that if you have low blood pressure, then when you sleep really deeply it dips even more - a sort of suspended animation - that's why we're cold. The only time I had warm feet was when I was preggers. Basically, we don't have enough blood rushing around inside us to keep warm.

That is interesting about blood pressure - I used to be described as 'the girl with the perfect blood pressure' by my doctor in London (in the days when I was a girl). Now the nurses say 'hmm that's good'. I always have cold hands, legs and feet though.

AND I would like to announce that I did brave the camping in the Lakes AND ascended Crinkle Crags - up the 'Bad Step' and into the mist.... There were lots of lost people up there on Saturday. We had a compass and still managed to go the wrong way. At least we got down before dark though - unlike some others. Because of the cloud cover it wasn't too cold overnight and I slept solidly for 10 hours - no chance of that at home!

The campsite was packed!

However, I have given in and have the radiator in my office on now and will put one on in the lounge later.

Oh how I long for an open fire/stove. Please do not post any more pics of cosy firesides or I will start bashing away to open up ours even though we can't afford to finish the job at the moment!

You would think that my layer of fat would be more than adequate to compensate for it!

Hey I'm not the only person with low blood pressure  I am permenantly cold from September to May especially at night but fortunately I have a warm toastie hubby to keep me warm

Well done Tina for the camping, I love camping but can only do it in mid-summer and this year we had to have a double sleeping bag so hubby could keep me warm. I thibk it works both ways when he is too warm in bed he finds my cold feet and we both feel better :)

My eldest daughter has Raynauds syndrome as have my dad and grandad and this makes her feet turn deathly white when exposed to a sudden temperature change. I t does not even need to be that cold just a sudden slight drop will do it.

My family if not built for winter.
