BeckyBoo
....just thought I'd let you know how badly my last 24 hours has been. Firstly ED threw up Tuesday (More than 24 hrs I know) yesterday as she still wasn't allowed in to school walked MD in to school, got home whereupon my guts turned to water and I was unable to get off the loo for nearly an hour and a half (TMI, sorry ) so OH comes home, collects ED and SB (Smallest Boy) and takes them to in-laws. I go back to bed, terrible cramps, feel like death. Lunchtime call from school MD throwing up - sister-in-law very kindly collects her and brings her home. By this time I am able to walk almost upright and stay off loo long enough to hold hand and mop up vom . OH comes home early from work to help, at 5 get call from inlaws - SB now also throwing up so he is also duly returned with placcy bag full of vom clothes. Spend evening holding various small hands and moppig up vom, alternately MD then SB. By this time have managed to drink half a cup of tea in the morning and very small glass of flat coke (better than Diaralyte (sp?) according to my amb friend) so am feeling weak. MD stops throwing at 9pm, I go to bed for two hours whilst OH keeps watch on SB who is STILL chucking up. I come down just after 11, SB throws til 2am. He finally stops and both children start to keep fluids down. Hurrah! 2.45am OH starts throwing! 8.00am go to change SB nappy, move sofa to collect packet of baby wipes that had fallen down under sofa to find small deceased rodent as deposited by Frank - Ferocious Tabby Tiger on unspecified date. Move rodent to find small patch of crawling maggoty type creatures on carpet. Nearly go back to square one and start vom! This is clearly an OH job but he is still running between bed and toilet so have to grit teeth and PICK THEM UP! AAAggggghhhhh! 8.15am dog throws up on carpet. Can I stop now please? chocchick
Bad bad day, it must get better soon. I think the vomiting/runs thing has been around a lot, me and OH have had it. We don't have kids to cope with though Edited October 5, 2007 by Guest
susiepoos
I feel like throwing up myself now - hope you can't catch it over the internet You've had a rough time poor thing - keep warm, sip fluids - your friend is right, flat coke is ideal but just sips - Hope you are all feeling better soon
chocchick
If you can't drink without throwing up you can suck ice-cubes.

Snowy
Oh no Mrs B! Drowning in vomit, what a nightmare - poor you and family Luckily only smallest boy got it bad in our house, but the cramps were awful, poor thing. Thinking of you and sending virtual hugs. At least the worst is over now!
Egluntyne
You couldn't make it up! Forgive me for chuckling, but you have such a way with words! The joys of motherhood. If your OH is anything like Him Indoors, he will have it far worse than you and will take to his bed. 'sallright for some. I hope you are all better very soon. The Dogmother
That sounds nasty, but glad to see that your humour survived (sort of!). It is going around - Rosie has mentioned that it's at her school and she's been complaining of a bit of a runny bot and tummy ache, but I think that's just speculative 'wanting day off school' behaviour as she seems fine otherwise. I hope that you're all better soon and able to take solids. Little 'uns go down with stuff so quickky, don't they?
Rona
That all sounds absolutely hellish but I'm sure your sense of humour will help you through. I hope you are all feeling much better now and treat yourselves to a bit of gentle pampering this weekend.
Karen & co.
You sound like you are in a 'Stop the world I want to get off' frame of mind Flat coke is really good for the D&V's or flat lemonade, I hope everyone starts to pick up again soon karen x
Helly Welly
Poor you, we've had it too, though luckily Abi didn't succumb at all it was just us grown-ups. Still, i did get 4 days in bed out of it so it was almost worth it.
BeckyBoo
OH has just appeared from his pit of despair, had a cup of tea and a bath then returned to wallow in fresh sheets and pillow cases as provided by me. So that'll be 8 3/4 hours in bed then as oppose to my 3 1/2 hours followed by lots of TLC administration - by me to everyone else, not to me! How do they do it? Blokes I mean?! On the plus side I haven't weighed this little since SB was born two years ago! Mrs B
