feemcg
Dry here at last today, had the wee ducks and chicks out with all the big girls for the 1st time - they've been cooped up in their run long enough. KT and Eddi gave the chicks a really hard time but mostly ignored the ducks, none of the chooks seem to know what to make of the ducks at all and give them a wide berth. It's to be really cold tomorrow but I need to let them all out again to get the 'introductions' over and done with as soon as poss

Charlottechicken
Have a good day off Claire- very cold, windy and sleeting here now i could do with a couple of days off before Christmas to get things done I've got the week off Clare I'm using up my leave before the end of my leave year. I will get the bank holidays but I will be in the office all the working days over Christmas. I let others fight over the Christmas leave, I usually end up with a week off at the beginning of December and it's really nice. I'd rather have my leave when I want it, not with everyone else Hope that sleet turns to fluffy snow Clare Edited December 10, 2007 by Guest

The Dogmother
Thanks for the wishes Claire - it turned lovely and sunny over lunchtime, still bitterly cold though, it has just started to cloud over though, so we might just get that snow! Charlottechicken
The forecast is for a frost overnight isn't it? Actually, last night when I was roaming the house at goodness knows what hour looking for a quiet place to sleep I looked out of the back bedroom window and could swear I saw tiny flakes of snow. Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow
The Dogmother
me too Claire, I love snow. Unfortunatley I still have to go to work though - I live just 5 mins walk from the office I thought it was due to frost too, but he cloud looks quite heavy and gloomy, mind you, it is so windy that it might all blow over before nigthfall

Charlottechicken
I love it when it snows - I go out and dance around in it! One year we had some far eastern students rent a house in my road. We woke one morning to a thick blanket of snow, and they were out in the snow, barefoot, and posing for photos with snowballs, throwing the snow etc, they had obviously never seen it before. It was lovely to watch, they behaved just like small children I must say though I get a bit miffed if someone disturbs the snow on my front wall before me! (last snowfall we had I made snow chickens on the gateposts )
The Dogmother
I like my snow pristine too Claire - we're usually early to walk through the park to school, so there's plenty of virgin snow there

chickencam
I had to bash the water in glug really hard this morning to break the ice. We put the outside temperature sensor for the thermometer inside the eglu last night and it went down to 5 degrees which I supose is better than the -4 it was outside and they do sit on each other but I am glad that I am not a chook
