I love it when Dh drives, so I can nose into other people's front rooms,

 

Have you been to Holland? They have big picture windows with little short lace curtains and lots of plants and at night you can see right into their front rooms.

OK, I didn't - I just moved the clutter out of shot. George is on the stool with the white bib and Sasha on the chair. You can see that I am also an Ikea fan

Here are our two outdoor trees.......

The artificial tree in the porch....

and the real tree at the back of the house - where the chickens can see it It just has lights and a star.

I thought I would add a photo of my festive fireplace,which I really like this year.

The lights are little ones on a row of brown & gold sequins,so they look really pretty when they are not lit too

 

Its just a shame its got too warm to light the wood burner

Oh that's lovely and Christmassy Sarah - I have decorated my mantlepiece too but the cat uses it as a route down from her scratching post onto the sofa so she keeps knocking bits off.

The Hubby used a suckery hook gizmo thing

Apparantly its very strong, as I have told him that if it falls off & smashes I will never fogive him.

I have a gorgeous multi coloured one on my big oak mirror in the dining room too

you sound like me, I'm always paranoid pictures will fall off the wall etc.

 

When we had our new kitchen fitted, to make sure the cupboards were secure and could take the weight of all my crockery, I asked the fitter if the cupboards were secure enough to say, bear the weight of a small child?

 

I should have explained to him first that I was thinking about load bearing capacity! The look on his face!
