Grannie now has food in the house and the heating switched on (well she's probably switched it off by now). The Met office sever weather warning now covers everywhere except Wales! 40% risk of disruption here and between 0 and 5cm of snow here in the east. It is only -1.4 but the wind is absoulutely bitter. I have lit the living room fire and may have to add a jumper to my 'jamas this evening.

Wish we all lived near each other - we could go sledging - that's what I do when it snows :D

I freecycled my boys' sledges in the summer when we did the big cellar clear out, thinking it never snows anymore in London :( Now it's going to snow tomorrow  A lot of people used estate agents 'For Sale' signs instead of sledges when it used to snow.

Well, we have a thin smattering of snow this morning - not enough to throw a snowball, but given that we didn't actually have any forecast until later today, it's enough to send the children into a frenzy of excitement. Even Duncan (10 going on 15), who is nrmally far too cool nowadays for child-like excitement has graced us with his presence this early in the morning to start making plans for the day!

Chookiehubbie is off to work, prepared for the worst - change of clothes in case he has to stay in Edinburgh, thermos of soup, thermos of tea, sandwiches, wellies, blankets, hat, scarf, gloves and a shovel.

We've got to gather a kit like that - for our trip to Luton at 11.15  That means Carl will have to buy chocolate biscuits  and then it won't snow and I'll be the one eating them all

I'm going to insist my son uses a different airport in future after having to brave the summer floods and freezing fog so far to take/collect him and his girlfriend.
