Steam cleaner

Recommended Posts

Cat vomit was no obstacle for THE STEAM CLEANER 8)

Well that's good news, as I have a cat that seems to throw up out of sheer boredom.

Had a friend over tonight, I still haven't been able to get it out of the box! I will be leaping out of bed tomorrow and rushing to plug it in and start cleaning.

There's something very wrong with that last sentence, but I can't work out what it is.

I'm sure mine do it for pleasure  Everytime I see one of them doing it, I'm instantly transported to the kitcfhen in Fawlty Towers when Basil mimicked the cat after he thought it had eaten veal covered in rat poison

It must be......the rest of it looks perfect.

Beautifully punctuated, with verbs and tenses etc.

It contains a double negative?

PS..."start cleaning", what on earth is that? Mine's been despatched, so perhaps I'll find out soon.

I've been saving some parts of the house (99%)

Don't worry Sheila - mine's still in the open box, messing up the kitchen instead of cleaning it! I didn't jump out of bed to start cleaning!

I hadn't realised just how disgusting the grouting in my shower was. Now I've steamed most of it, it looks used but OK. :) When I fit an extension lead so I can reach properly, I'll do some more and it will look lovely again. :D

The tiles behind my hob, which I thought had suffered in the heat, have come up beautifully. I've yet to tackle the glass on the oven door - but i'm looking forward to a thrill there!

Can you tell which rack has had the treatment? Don't look at the rest of it as I got bored after doing one "rung" . At least it looks clean if you don't look too closely  .

Very impressive! The only bad thing about my steamer is that when I tried it on a muddy patch that the dog had kindly deposited on a sofa (she is not allowed on the sofa, but like she listens to me ) it soaked the sofa, so now "Ooops, word censored!"oday can sit on it until it dries :(

Well, my heating's fixed so I have come out of hibernation and have started playing with my steamer. Here's the evidence:

Hi Vicki

Did you use any detergent or just steam on your oven? I've been going at the door on mine and it's hardly made any difference. Just puddles of water everywhere. I'm starting to think it's not steaming as it should be as I can put my hand in front of it - NOT TO BE RECOMMENDED but I was convinced it wasn't that warm. My shelves look like yours and I can't see it making it any difference to them as it stands :?

I just used steam on the rack - I put it over the sink so there were no puddles. I don't think I could be bothered to do the whole thing though - certainly not in one go.

I also tried the oven door - it didn't work too well (I know what you mean about the puddles - I kept mopping it up as I went). I think I'd have to take the glass out - not sure about using a detergent. I might try Ecover w/up liquid & see if that works.

My instructions say you shouldn't use anything but water. I did just create a lot of steam at first, but I've got the technique of moving side to side and directing the small jet of water at it, and making sure the ball is feeding water into it. My oven door is still quite dirty for a lot of work, and there were puddles of water, but it stripped away some of the layers and I remembered it was supposed to be transparent.

I got mine this week and tried last night - when I could enjoy it properly

I like it, and OH has even been cleaning  The steam is very therapeutic and cleared my airways.

My fridge is now clean, and I didn't even know it was so dirty before

Some other things are proving a match for it  It has been removing some of the layers and I got a dirty floor from the water running down

I've just been using the twisty nozzle, maybe scrubbing would help it

I think some areas will need multiple passes as they are old and maybe a little neglected so won't clean up as well as say the fridge. It's a more fun way of doing it though :D
