Steam cleaner

Hang on to it Cinnamon....unless the one your OH has is the same.

If it's not...put the old one on Ebay!

I am so pleased with the way mine has got rid of the limescale on the shower cubicle.

Two good sessions and it has all but gone.

Another couple and I'm sure I will have got rid of it all.

And no asthma inducing chemical!

Claret....are you reading this?......

I'd better rush off to the shower cubicle then! I've been plagued with sinusitis for several weeks now.

I'll have to wrestle the machine off OH first though . . .:lol:

Did he buy it for you or for himself!

Well, of course, I bought it for Ginette. But I did have to try it out to make sure it was suitable for her!!:lol:

Of course....quality control and all that.

Very Laudable.

The day Him indoors uses mine I shall eat one of my hens.:lol:

I've had a fun day playing with mine! The lounge carpet actually looks as if it might last a few more years now  I've removed loads of mucky patches that so far have consisted of: blue tac; red wax (from babybel cheeses); chicken poo  ; and numerous others that were too far gone for identification

And I made a start on the bathroom tiles (just to see the effect - couldn't do too much as OH on night duty. I'll have another go when he's gone to work!) I can't believe the gunk that came off the floor tiles!

Yes, I did! :):)

I cleaned the hob and the tiles behind it, plus a couple of the kitchen cupboard doors. Wonderful. :)

Snowy has reminded me of one particular spot on the stair carpet (might have been blu tac once  ) - I really MUST have a go at that when I can get the cleaner back...:lol:

I'm following this with interest, and yes I am tempted (specially as I just got a REFUND on my gas bill! ) How good is it for large areas though? I'm thinking of the kitchen floor ... isn't it a bit back-breaking doing it with this?

My brother has a steam mop which he recommended, but I don't think I could fit that into the oven :? Don't know which to go for now!

!

I have a steam cleaner that looks a bit like a cylinder vaccuum cleaner, it has umpteen different cleaning heads, and jet bits that let you clean floors, shower screens, tiles ovens hob tops and carpets. It's so easy and does a brill job, it was from Lakeland, but looking at the kitchen floor I really should use it more often :lol:

Oh for goodness sake you guys :!: I am really determined not to buy anything new this year, and you have almost convinced me that I need one of these :( I have so many grotty bits in my house which depress me :( One of my most hated housework jobs is cleaning the huge venetion blinds in my kitchen, would the steamer be any good on these?

ooh I've got venetian blinds too. Hadn't thought of that. It would be heaven if it cleaned those too  Horrid things!!

I have to confess that (due to pressure of work) I've had my steamer for 24 hours and not used it yet

... and amazingly, they are back in stock at John Lewis.com! (although there's one less now, because I've just ordered one ... am I mad? :? )

I'm seriously worried that there is some sort of mass buying hysteria on here and I've fallen for it! It's just that my oven is  It was bad when I moved in 14 months ago, and I kept meaning to get one of those companies out to clean it but now it's even worse and I can't go on blaming the previous owners!

If this works, it will be cheaper than one visit from the oven-cleaning people, and I can do the blinds, tiles, floor, and that nasty stain on the carpet! :P
