Lesley
Mine arrived this morning - just as the Vet arrived. Maybe I should have used it to 'encourage' the cows into the crush I'll test it later..........

Egluntyne
Hang on to it Cinnamon....unless the one your OH has is the same. If it's not...put the old one on Ebay! I am so pleased with the way mine has got rid of the limescale on the shower cubicle. Two good sessions and it has all but gone. Another couple and I'm sure I will have got rid of it all. And no asthma inducing chemical! Claret....are you reading this?......
The Dogmother
I am Hon - I'd love to try one... must coerce my dad into replacing his so that I can borrow the new one....

pianissimo
I'd better rush off to the shower cubicle then! I've been plagued with sinusitis for several weeks now. I'll have to wrestle the machine off OH first though . . . Did he buy it for you or for himself! Well, of course, I bought it for Ginette. But I did have to try it out to make sure it was suitable for her!!

Snowy
I've had a fun day playing with mine! The lounge carpet actually looks as if it might last a few more years now I've removed loads of mucky patches that so far have consisted of: blue tac; red wax (from babybel cheeses); chicken poo ; and numerous others that were too far gone for identification And I made a start on the bathroom tiles (just to see the effect - couldn't do too much as OH on night duty. I'll have another go when he's gone to work!) I can't believe the gunk that came off the floor tiles!
The Dogmother
I bet my kitchen floor tiles are mega gruppy - the cats always seem to forget to take their wellies off when they parade through
pianissimo
Did you like it? Yes, I did! I cleaned the hob and the tiles behind it, plus a couple of the kitchen cupboard doors. Wonderful. Snowy has reminded me of one particular spot on the stair carpet (might have been blu tac once ) - I really MUST have a go at that when I can get the cleaner back... pianissimo
Brilliant idea! (I'm sure you must be on commission...) Oh no! They're out of stock.
Olly
I'm following this with interest, and yes I am tempted (specially as I just got a REFUND on my gas bill! ) How good is it for large areas though? I'm thinking of the kitchen floor ... isn't it a bit back-breaking doing it with this? My brother has a steam mop which he recommended, but I don't think I could fit that into the oven Don't know which to go for now!
The Dogmother
Well, you could buy one of these for the smaller things and borrow the steam mop for the larger areas.

I'm thinking of the kitchen floor ... isn't it a bit back-breaking doing it with this? ! I have a steam cleaner that looks a bit like a cylinder vaccuum cleaner, it has umpteen different cleaning heads, and jet bits that let you clean floors, shower screens, tiles ovens hob tops and carpets. It's so easy and does a brill job, it was from Lakeland, but looking at the kitchen floor I really should use it more often Karen x
Snowy
I only spot cleaned my carpet, it really needs doing with a larger piece of kit! It's perfect for an oven though
Olly
Well, you could buy one of these for the smaller things and borrow the steam mop for the larger areas. Sadly brother lives 250 miles away, so that's not practical! decisions, decisions ..
Tessa the Duchess
Oh for goodness sake you guys I am really determined not to buy anything new this year, and you have almost convinced me that I need one of these I have so many grotty bits in my house which depress me One of my most hated housework jobs is cleaning the huge venetion blinds in my kitchen, would the steamer be any good on these? Olly
Tessa, that does it - I bet it would be brilliant for that job! You've convinced me, and you don't even have one of these

Tessa ooh I've got venetian blinds too. Hadn't thought of that. It would be heaven if it cleaned those too Horrid things!! I have to confess that (due to pressure of work) I've had my steamer for 24 hours and not used it yet
Tessa the Duchess
You've convinced me, and you don't even have one of these Ok if you will I will Well so much for the good intentions only the 8th January and I've already weakened I think if things are out of stock in JL they will e. mail you when they re-stock. Wending my way over to JL website feeling very guilty Tessa
Olly
... and amazingly, they are back in stock at John Lewis.com! (although there's one less now, because I've just ordered one ... am I mad? ) I'm seriously worried that there is some sort of mass buying hysteria on here and I've fallen for it! It's just that my oven is It was bad when I moved in 14 months ago, and I kept meaning to get one of those companies out to clean it but now it's even worse and I can't go on blaming the previous owners! If this works, it will be cheaper than one visit from the oven-cleaning people, and I can do the blinds, tiles, floor, and that nasty stain on the carpet! Egluntyne
I've lost count now of all the steam cleaner owners. Must be at least a dozen!
