ali-s
Well Done Are they live ones The chickens will love them. Watch your fingers with their sharp beaks.
Guest
Yes - they did like them! The worms are dried, luckily! I once got some live ones for the garden birds delivered to work and they were rather smelly! These are much more manageable. Big packet too - lots of treats Wonder what colour eglu scored the highest? Guess we'll find out soon!

Martin B
I really want to know it will be very interesting!
kannie
Erm... not sure - will have to dig them out - I'm sure I must have a copy somewhere.... but actually I don't think we won for having the greatest volume of egg - I think it was just a prize draw, so we were just lucky!!! Will try to trace our results anyway. May even be earlier on this thread....
kannie
Here we are: Maisy & Matilda have managed 1,218g! Pretty good going! Matilda came first with 670g (and 10 eggs)! And Maisy laid 9 eggs, totalling 548g. But as I said, I'm assuming it was luck rather than quantity that won the worms!
Martin B
When will we know the full results?
kannie
Are you going to base your eglu colour choice on the winner, Martin?
Martin B
No, I still want green

kannie
It was a surprise, Martin, and I was slightly taken aback because I hadn't seen your avatar before and it is.... imposing! But I like it - good colours! I guess your big bird just seemed to tower over my little chick with a serious look. So I was a bit surprised!! SarahJo
THE RESULTS ARE IN Check out the HOMEPAGE ... apparently a ******* eglu is the best colour
clare*
A bit disappointing that only 2 yellow ones took part and could not be counted in the votes I am sure omlet must have sold a lot more than 2 before they stopped the colour. If all the yellows had taken part I am sure we would have won. I love my yellow Eglu and apart from 2 missed days I have had 7 eggs a week from my 2 hens in 8 months
ali-s
Interesting. I didn't think that colour would be the winner

Lesley
What a surprise - I wasn't expecting that colour either. Ours aren't laying in the eglus at the moment as we had to use a rollaway nestbox to break the egg-eating habit. On the odd occasion that we have left the eglu doors open then they do have a preference - can't tell you which one yet and can't confirm whether it agrees with the winner
motherhen
PINK PINK PINK PINK PINK Apologies for spilling the beans when the rest of you have been so restrained, but do have a look at the results anyway - not only do get the most eggs but we get the biggest eggs I can't wait for all the commercial hen houses to get their colour change
SarahJo
oohhh, Motherhen, do calm down
motherhen
Calm down - no way In fact, I'm musing on the thoughts of a pink party like the one Imogen had for her 16th I'm just imagining all these tv reporters trying to keep a solemn face while interviewing poultry farmers about AI while standing infront of barbie pink hen houses
