missuscluck
Today we have been to llandudno in Wales. I have got a mini (my other hobby) and have been with the mini club on a run up to llandudno. It was FREEEEZING. However we have had a lovley time, even with a 7.15 am start which is criminal on a Sunday. We have been up a very steep mountain a la Itailan job and had a picnic in the car, along with over 200 other minis. Here is my lovley little car on the sea front in the rain. (im the one with a pink roof) My hubby is in a band and they get asked to go to country music festivals where everyone dresses as cowboys and indians (not us though!!) This has set me wondering, Chickens aside, does anyone else have a hobby or passion that the follow on the weekends!!
Guest
chookiehubbie is from Lladudno! Nice to see that the weather is never any better when we aren't there - it always chucks it with rain when we go there! Is that The Orm you were up? Lesley
That looks like the road up the Great Orme there - I've seen it many times in cold grey weather .like that, but not with a 7.15 start Lovely to see all those Minis.......
missuscluck
Yup!. It was raining and blowing a gale. So much so it knocks you over.
Lesley
Snap Shona! - I think it is the Orme.
Ain't Nobody Here
Love your mini! Very . Nope, we're very boring at the weekends. Watch YS play rugby most Saturdays and football most Sundays, and ES row (on water, not arguing ) when it's close by. OH does a lot of fell running but I generally catch up with housework (and the forum ).
Egluntyne
Looks like a great day out. Haven't been to Llandudno in years.
missuscluck
fell running, that sounds interesting. Excuse my ignorance but is that exactly what in says---running up/down/along a fell????
Guest
okay, hands up, who was brave enough to go on the bob sleigh run up there? Me, me, me! love the idea of a mini with a pink roof, bet it was fun!
missuscluck
They do have a very aincient, high up cable car up the great orme which is not for the faint hearted. Needless to say it was shut today
Guest
The cable car is great fun!! They also have a train that goes up and down, which the children much prefer to the cable car for some reason...
Ain't Nobody Here
Ooh, ooh, I've just remembered I've been to Great Orme Head - went on the cable car too, and down the mine!
The Dogmother
I love Llandudno too All the regency architecture. Fell in love with it when I went as an A level geology student while on a field trip and last went last summer... it wan't raining then. Don't you just love rallies though? I used to do the Run to the Sun every year in a VW camper, down to catch the surf
Ain't Nobody Here
fell running, that sounds interesting. Excuse my ignorance but is that exactly what in says---running up/down/along a fell???? Yes, basically you run up a steep hill then run down the other side, then find another hill and do that one ... ad infinitum till you're either a) dead or b) have a broken limb . There's a saying amongst fellrunners "brain off, brakes off" which describes the descent off a hill. No wonder they break limbs . I think he's crazy . Jules.
i love the mini photos. I have had two minis- my first I named Archimedes & painted flowers & stuff all over him, my second was Jeremy, he was a Mini Advantage the photo was taken in the Lake District from my tent on a "Mini Mad Merseyside" weekend He's on the right. We had to replace him 11 years ago as it's really difficult to get a pram into a mini
missuscluck
Jules your minis are lovley. What a great name! I too sold a mini when pregnant with my first as I could not fit the pram in. Seemed like a good idea at the time but I think I should have bought a smaller pram! It was a red Mini Chelsea and you NEVER see them anywhere now. I got my last mini, a cooper, 6 years ago and picked my Mini-ing back up again. I sold it a little while ago, due to terminal rust/expense problems and bought my N reg Sprite, which, at the mo. is in good nick. As you will know with Minis this wont last. RUST, RUST, RUST...........Oh, and things falling off.....
