Tessa the Duchess
Just heard on Radio 4 that next Monday is the most depressing day of the year for all in the UK Due to a combination of weather, credit card bills from christmas spending, failure to keep new year resolutions etc., So there's something for us all to look forward to Tessa

chickencam
We must all smile when we get up on Monday and send the blues away a bit like in the advert where they are trying to stop the arrival of Monday, but WE WILL WIN

The Dogmother
I start my new job on Monday (same school, different duties) so hopefully that'll keep my mind off it . Good luck in your 'new position' Vicki Let's have sunny days all the way folks... hard to imagine in this weather, I know
Ziggy
Depressing? Why depressing? Bad weather is an opportunity to enjoy the comforts of one's home (a hot shower and cosy lounge never feels as good as after getting frozen and soaked), and all other things can similarly be seen in a positive way somehow (well maybe not all things, but most)... I'm for once feeling rather optimistic and cheerful... then I always like to be contrary, especially when it comes to statistics

AnnieP
I think my "blue Monday" was actually yesterday.. ( we work on Wiltshire time round these parts...). I am already nursing a broken arm from in between Christmas and the New Year, (don't ask and No, I WASN'T drunk ), but yesterday one of my beloved donkeys died. Next Monday better not be worse than this....
Egluntyne
Oh no....Am so sorry to hear about your donkey. Very sad news. I know you said don't ask...but.....how did you break your arm?
AnnieP
Slipped over on my yard, carrying buckets of feed.
Egluntyne
Slipped over on my yard, carrying buckets of feed. Easily done. I nearly measured my length twice at work on Monday on some slimy cobbles. I hope the arm mends quickly. Not your writing hand I hope. I'm sure the combined force of us Omleteers can create a positive force across the land

Guest
Oh no. I'm sinking into a depression already. I HATE my job, my colleagues are horrible, the kids are awful and I wish I was back in my old job where I just couldn't stand working with one person. I'd go back there tomorrow if I could. I have to drive to Bournemouth and back tomorrow to take Granny to look at a retirement flat - James is not going to enjoy that at all - probably 5 to 6 hours in the car. I crave the option of some friendly adult converstation most days, all I get here is the flipping kids to talk to. Oh and one of the horrid colleagues is trying to stitch me up (again!).
