Janty
Our panasonic portable home phones are useless. They never keep their charge and are generally not good. This weekend (snow permitting) we are intending to buy some new phones for home. Anybody got any suggestions? They must be portable, no answer machine is needed but they must be reliable. Thanks
Egluntyne
We have a BT Espirit 1250. Have had it a couple of years. Pretty basic....but no complaints so far. In fact it was a freebie as they had cocked up our broadband order.
Omletina Kyckling
I have BT onAir 'phones and have had them for years, have just replaced one of the batteries, but I find them to be very reliable. My mum bought a really cheap BT 'phone though, and it wasn't that brilliant - it was about £10 from Woolworths I think.
Ziggy
We have the BT calypso ones... they're nothing but trouble... the different handsets don't synchronise, so you have to go around erasing messages alert from each of them in turn (we have a big house and a fair number of phones spread out), and they do not charge properly either, they don't seem to sit steady on the charger... Ana's flock
I recently bought a Bang & Oluffsen from e-bay for the office. It's brilliant. Brand new ones are very expensive though, but if you're not shopping for the latest model you'll be able to pick up a bargain - the quality of sound is really good. I'm looking to get another set for the house.
chickencam
We have got Binatone Activity 2000, which we bought in the B&Q sale early lasy year for £50 for 4 which are great. I think that this particular model is now discontinued but I know a few people with Binatone phones who are happy with them. Make sure that you know how many phones you will need to link from the start and buy them all together then they will either come ready linked or they will be much easier to link. Fabergé
There's an article in this months Which? magazine comparing cordless phones. If you don't need an answering machine, their top recommendation is a Panasonic KXTG7200E - I see you already have Panasonic but it particularly mentions long battery life (22 hours). Also recommended was Tesco Siemens Dualphone DP450 which can also be also be used for internet calls. Both phones aparantly have long ranges & good sound quality.
