jman2007
Hi Hope everyone is having a good Sunday. Just a quick question, is it ok to add grit to the layers pellets when I put it in the Grub or is it best to have it on its own? Thanks
BeckyBoo
I don't know if it matters, but I think it might sink to the bottom of the grub and they might not get it. I used to chuck handfuls into the run so they could get it as they scratched around. Now I put it in two piles in their walk in run Mrs B
Ain't Nobody Here
You can certainly add it to the pellets but I find it easier to put it in a wee pot like this. That way you can see exactly when it needs filling up.
TrishY
i put the grit in a heavy rabbit/dog bowl for mine
Sarah B
I tried a bowl but they pooed in it I use a hang up bowl now and put a little in the pellets as well.

I bought these too as they are brilliant for treats such as pasta and potato peelings and they keep stuff in instead of being trampled in the run - I also have one for grit too
Mrs Webmuppet
I use a little pot attached to the wire of the run ( I think its really for parrot cages but it works just as well).

TAJ
Pots like the ones shown were about 50p in the domestic fowl trust - various sizes & colours. We have put a hole in the bottom of ours, so when the water gets in it is self-draining. Tracy Edited March 16, 2008 by Guest
