Cinnamon
What tragic news that the talented director Anthony Minghella has died of a brain haemorrhage at just 52 I actually came on here to tell people about his adaptation of 'The Number 1 Ladies Detective Agency',one of my most favourite books, which is on BBC1 on Easter Sunday. Then I saw on Yahoo that he had died..................... He was truly one of my favourite,& made some of my most favourite movies like 'Truly,Madly,Deeply' & 'The English Patient'. He could really tell a story with his movies & the scenery shots were always fab. A very sad loss, epecially for the British film industry
Tessa the Duchess
What tragic news that the talented director Anthony Minghella has died of a brain haemorrhage at just 52 Very sad, and so young When I read The English Patient I remember thinking that it was such a complicated story "Ooops, word censored!"ody could make a film out of it, but he did, and beautifully. Some of my favourite episodes of 'Morse' were directed by Minghella. RIP Tessa

Charlottechicken
I know absolutely nothing about the film industry and am not a great film watcher, so cannot comment on his work, but that is no age at all.
Egluntyne
Very sad news indeed. I understood it was a post operative haemhorrage following surgery to his neck. I saw his production of Madam Butterfly. It was truly wonderful.

fairy&cake
I love Anthonys work. SUch a loss to the film industry. M favourite piece of his work was Meet Joe Black. Such a twisted but wonderful picture. I think he will be really missed, like Heath Ledger. Its so sad. My friend rang me yesterday who works in the clothing dept on The West End, she said they'd sent everyone home because everyone was so upset. MedusA
Truly Madly Deeply was his too......remember that? I love that film. Makes me howl buckets! What a shame about Anthony Minghella. He is the same age as me. Why is it that all the people who are my age are dropping like flies? It is extremely worrying!
