Heathrow Terminal 5

Recommended Posts

One of our consultants is working out at T5, he came back into the office this afternoon and said that there were 30 cancelled flights today :? Apparently the snazzy new baggage claim thingy went bum-up

We're supposed to be flying from there in a few days - my folks are taking Rosie and I away for a week.

You all have no idea how glad I am that this is my part time week!!!!

From the BA.com website, 36 flights have been cancelled today

OH is back flying tomorrow, but I am back on Monday.

Tis a joy according to colleagues at the airport!

I feel sorry for the passengers and the ground staff. We as cabin crew end up waiting on the aircraft for hours, until the passengers get on in a wonderful mood, understandably

I just hope it is all sorted by Monday

Someone from work is coming home from NZ on Monday and I am meant to be picking him up from Edinburgh in the afternoon and running him home but I don't actually know what airline he is flying on I just hope it isn't BA but I doubt there are many choices out to NZ :?

There are a few choices Louise :D

We're flying Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific & Singapore Airlines both do NZ as well, as do Emirates, but I think Emirates are out of Gatwick (well I know they go out of Gatwick, what I don't know is if they fly out of Heathrow too :? ). In my humble opinion (having done it last time, and having listened to the opinions of others who've done the flight too) the BA option to NZ is not a great one, because they share the route with Qantas, which means changing planes half way there and you miss out on the perks of using "home" airports. Those flying Singapore Airlines get to make use of all the facilities at the Singapore transit hotel for example, so is a very popular option :D:D

So with any luck your colleague won't be flying into T5. *fingers crossed*

Had the radio on earlier and a listener had rang in and said that he had been watching "The Apprentice last night and the contestants had had to set up a new air terminal in London ....he had missed the end and wondered who got fired!:lol:

Joking aside I really feel for the staff and passengers it must be no laughing matter if your on the receiving end of these situations..
