Cinnamon
I told Devon, who is 15 that I would take her to Reading festival this year ONLY if The Killers, who I love & adore, are playing. I quietly thought I was safe...................... But no, they have just been announced as headliners on Saturday I really think my festing days are behind me. My lining up for porta loos days most certainly are. Help.
Laura & CTB
oh my - I'd try and wriggle out of it if it was me - isnt there some other bribe you could use as a deflection???
Cinnamon
*sobs* I hope so. Much as I love The Killers, & we do only live 4 miles from the Reading site,I am really not up for this. Maybe I can talk little bro' into taking her?
Tessa the Duchess
Oh Cinnamon, I hope you manage to get out of this. I noticed in the paper that The Divine Comedy and another couple of bands that I like are playing at the Wychwood Festival, I did um and ah for about 3 minutes, but then I remembered the queues for the Portaloos My festival days are truly over Tessa
Janty
Hubby promised Kop boy that if Lowestoft Town football club got to the final of the FA Vase at Wembley then he would take him. Mother-in-law said that she would buy him a football shirt if they went to Wembley. Last weekend they got through so guess who is going to have a lovely quiet weekend in May. Unbelievabley, the gig she was taking a couuple of mates to for her birthday treat tomorrow has just been cancelled.....I literally came off line to a phone call from the concert hall. crazygal
I'll go!! When are the tickets on sale anyway? I always mess up and they're sold out before I've even considered August bank holiday...and its only 20 mins or so away from me too!
fairy&cake
Cinnomen, your NOT past it! Simply go VIP like i do, no portaloo's then I havent been to a fest' since i was 8 months preggers, but we will be taking seth when hes 3 or 4 with tiny ear defenders. I think it'd be great if you got weekend w/o camping, then you can retreat home ) Saying that, if shes 15, do you think shes old enough to go alone if your 4 miles away? I went to V fest when i was 13 and it was so much fun. That only seems like yesterday! Saying that, these days its a bit more dangerous. The Dogmother
I'll take her Sarah - we love festivals and I'm not that embarrassing Rosie's looking forward to being old enough to come to the Global Gathering with us - her taste in music is quite mature considering she's just 10. Egluntyne
I've just found myself stumping up for my youngest son to go to the Leeds Festival. The funniest thing has just happened....him being on the last minute with everything...his friend's mother who is getting the tickets naturally wanted cash, so we have just been down to the cash machine. I was drawing the money out, with my 6 foot shaven headed son actually standing guard, when two chaps walked past and said to me...."Everything all right Duck? Need any assistance?!!" He does look a bit menacing in the dark. They were flustered and embarrassed when I said everything was OK, he was my son....but how kind of them! fairy&cake
WOOP!!!! ''Motorcylce emptiness'' ''designed for life'' '' you stole the sun from my heart'' You simply have to go now cinnamon!!!! If seth was older i'd come, i think ross is going this year again and V. We might go V as a family, because we get VIP tickets from our friends [The organisers ] But im not sure if hes too young? Cinnamon
Reading don't do VIP tickets It looks like she is going with a friend ....so I am off the hook, apart from trying to buy the tickets which now look to be sold out (for Saturday) Little bro' & Little sis will both be there, so they can keep a vague eye out for her - she will be fine. I am sure she didn't really want to go 'with Mum' anyhow,in case anyone from School saw her
chickencam
We went to Cornbury last year and we are going to Wychwood this year who have Duffy and The Divine Comedy, it is only about 5 years away so we haven't yet decided whether or not to camp. Hope you manage to get tickets for your daughter, and it is a shame about Scouting For Girls we missed a chance to see them when they were just becoming known at a local club
Cinnamon
I got the tickets The local venue website was down,so I rang them & they were wondering why they hadn't sold out yet Lucky for me,eh? So she is seeing The Killers, The Manics, Foals,Bloc Party,We Are Scientists & Bullet for my Valentine. Shame she misses Tenaciuos D (with the fab Jack Black) & The Cribs who are on the Sunday, but I am not forking out another £72 I am still questioning the wisdom of letting her go,but she will be with a very sensible friend & a few people I know will be there too,so she will have their mobile numbers. We are only 15 mins away so can come & get her as soon as they have had enough. I guess you have to take the plunge sometime
