Guest
just popped my head out to check on the girls and saw Fatima and mariana sunbathing. To think, they've never really had the chance to do that before, just relax in the warm sun, really does my heart good!

Ms Tilytinkle
Aaaaaaah how lovely, bless them & bless you. Kindness is such a special quality, more than enough for all demands . .bless you hope its returned to you & yours tenfold. All 6 of mine were dust bathing in the sunshine, my daughters usually at school so doesn't get to enjoy the daily antics, she looked out of window & was delighted to watch them all together in their bath (wood ash & D.E. ), sooo cute she kept saying. They love to bathe & enjoy a good old long one too Ms Tilythinksthesunshineisdisappearing,Aprilshowersastheraincomesagain
Egluntyne
It is lovely to watch them behaving like normal hens isn't it? It never ceases to surprise me that despite not being able to express themselves normally for such a long time....they still know what to when released from the battery cage! emily-Jane
that sounds lovely! I can't wait to get some ex batts. Sit outside with them with a book, in the sunshine whilst they roam and explore and relax in the garden.
Stevie
awwwww-it shows they're comfortable with their surroundings and enjoying the heat. Mine do it on the decking cause that absorbs heat like a radiator.

Guest
p.s. while i was at the hospital, Ian cleaned out the run and said all the girls (Bea included!) were free ranging happily together with absolutely no bickering or picking on Bea which I'm so pleased about. Bea has finally got the chicken friends we wanted her to have
Snowy
Aaah, that sounds lovely Poet, it is great to see them pottering about and sunbathing isn't it? Mine were sunbathing on the lawn this morning - wings outstretched to catch some rays Next minute they were dashing into their run and dodging hailstones! Glad to hear that Bea has finally been accepted - sometimes seems like the bickering will never end doesn't it?
feemcg
Lovely - I'm glad they're all enjoying their freedom. I love when the chooks sunbathe - lying down on their side, with a wing and a leg outstretched, then the eyes start closing as if to say 'Ah, Bliss'
