Wonderful pics, so exciting, you are lucky. Hope all goes well for them.

I have a batch of eggs in the incubator at the moment and so far only two are showing any sign of change.

One is a Poland bantam and the other a Large Silver Laced Wyandotte, keepng my fingers crossed that all will carry on fine, early days yet (only day 9).

Wow they really are very cute and very yellow and very fluffy (hmm maybe that was a bit too much of stating the obvious)

Even my OH had to admit they were cute and I thought he had the "aww isn't it cute" gene removed at birth.

I'm loving the pics - I keep checking them out when I'm supposed to be working

Dont worry, i should be working

The last one is out, i dont think the remaining 4 eggs will hatch now, oh well.

I had to help the last one with the help of a teeeny bit of water on its white paper bit of he shell as s/he'd dried out and was going mad. It just helps them grandad said.

The ones that hatched yesterday are in the brooder now as they were 'panting' in the incubator as it got o humid with them all in there, upto 72% humidity! They are ver very happy in the brooder cage and chirping SOOOOOOOO loudly,

The humidity is falling thankfully in the incubator. Its very time consuming, and you must take it seriously, [im sure you all know that] But- its worth it. Im such a maternal person anyway, and this has been one of the best days of my life.

Its so funny, i go to where they arewither the incubator or brooder, and they run up to me and chirp. Naturally i chirp back and say '' hello babies''

They look happy, lets hope they are ok through the night in out bedroom.

It is like an Special care baby unit in here, all the monitors and fans and charts LOL.

I wouldnt forgive myself if sometihing happened to them though , if i'd been careless.

Laura, you say the chicks are cheeping loudly - the only time I hear my chicks is if they are too cold, otherwise they are just sleeping or pottering about, not making any noise. One day I switched the lamp off instead of the iron.....then they were cheeping loudly and all huddled together - it was good they raised the alarm though, or I'd never have known - clever little things :D

I think it was because they were a bit cold but we put the lamp down so its warmer.

It wasnt ear pinching loud like the book said, but just louder because they weren't under the plastic lid of the incubtor i think.

They are all fine, the 4 in the brooder next to my bed are looking at me, so cute! Its like having a newborn by your bed again LOL.

The other 4 are fine and sleeping in the incubator. They'll be joining their pals soon, :)

One think we did forget was that the heat lamp was a LAMP, lol, our room was sooooo bright last night it was hard to sleep, so they'll be moving into the office later.
