Goosey Lucy
Even though it's raining I'm happy because... due to the teacher's strike ES is not in school today so there was no mad rush this morning, I stayed in bed til 7:15 and then had a lovely shower while both boys watched tv. Now after a yummy breakfast we're off to the swimming pool for a play swim then after lunch YS will go to Nursery while ES and I go clothes shopping (for him, not me). He's only 8 but so excited! Cate in NZ
I'm happy cos it's Thursday evening..... and I don't work tomorrow so my weekend starts here I'd be happier if daughter would hurry up and come home. Teachers strike today gave her an unexpected day off and she's spent all day at Bluewater. Her journey home is tricky on public transport to our current temporary home so I'm half expecting a phone call to summon Mum's taxi at any minute which means that I daren't pour myself my usual thursday evening celebratory glass of wine...............but that means the bottle will last longer. All good then really I love a happy thread
Yorkshire Pudding
The kids are playing together reasonably peacefully. OH is on his way home and we're all having tea together. My sister and niece have been for a visit and it was lovely to see them. I've got a cup of tea and the Omlet site. It's the little things... Popcorn
I'm happy today because.... even though I am off work with a horrid cold virus, I was able to spend most of the day in bed, on my own, in some lovely peace and quiet with my laptop, TV and a hot cuppa! Still feel rubbish, but better for having some time-out. And I've only got 16 days to my due date - HURRAY !!!!! Ziggy
I'm happy today, because I'm going to pick up some of those chickens Claret is off to rescue... see you later Claret... I'll be the excited one running around shouting 'yessss, today's the day', with an embarrassed looking 8 year old by her side going 'please mummy calm down' And mostly because, for the first time in weeks, I have a calm, leisurely weekend ahead... all the previous weekends have been spent travelling, for holidays (which is fun, but the packing and unpacking and laundry and all that happened on the weekends around the week away, so busy weekends), and visiting relatives (OH's mum in hospital for serious treatment, and my parents in belgium, frantic weekend with flights cancelled and calls telling us to get to heathrow NOW to get on an earlier flight)... I can't remember last time I had a nice, lazy family weekend at home... So off I am today to pick the chooks, then I shall sit on the sofa in the conservatory room chatting with daughters about said chickens names (so far we have 'Pecky' I'm told, but still need two names) and sighing with contentment at not having to rush anywhere after packing bags and running around the house like a maniac... the builder is thankfully taking the weekend off too, so the house is mine.... oh mine... Olly
ANH, I'm glad you have got so much to smile about! I'm happy because: It's like a summer day here! I've spent the last four hours in the garden doing jobs that have been put off for ages. The girls have had a lovely time dustbathing, pottering and snoozing. My neighbour (who I'd thought was a bit aloof previously) had a long chat over the fence, and then lent me his electric hedge-trimmer I'm going to meet up with family tonight for my uncle's 85th birthday I'm going to a friend's for Sunday lunch tomorrow AND I've got a lift there, so I can enjoy a glass of wine with it! I've forgotten the horrible week I've had at work and all the other niggling things - this is about as good as it gets, a day in the garden with chickens! Cate in NZ
I'm happy today because after a big family argument yesterday we're all back on track. Son has just been out and bought me a newspaper and brought it up to me with a cup of tea and bacon butty that he's made me and hubby's emailed and all's well down under again I really have got the most amazing family, and it's good to be reminded sometimes that we all work together as a team and that we need to recognise the work that we all do to keep our lives running smoothly
