Guest
Out in the car this morning, it occurred to me that perhaps it was time to change the music - I've been listening to the James Blunt album in the car since it was released, and even the children know all the words. (yes some families all sing 'The Wheels on The Bus' in the car - we all sing 'You're Beautiful'!) It's going to be strange having a different cd in the car (I'm a creature of habit), but I feel it's time! So what do you listen to while driving? Cinnamon
I listen to Virgin - its great If not I have a disc with my 200 favourite songs on in mp3 format,so I can listen to those & always hear something different.
Guest
I listen to the Radio - could be R4, R3, Classic FM, Southern Counties or Premier, depending what's on and what I feel like! I suppose I feel the need for some stimulation as I spend most of the day on my own!
Mrs Frugal
We listen to the radio sometimes but prefer a local station so lose reception once out of the area. We'll then either tune to Classic FM or put in one of our CDs. We like compilations mostly as they appeal to the boys as well. They'll listen to something in the car and then take it and copy the tracks onto their MP3s! Current listening is Sad Songs alternating with Robbie Williams and U2's greatest hits. Cinnamon
I must tell you that I have just come home from shopping in town& I was singing along to The Monkees (Daydream Believer ) & The Beach Boys (Help me Rhonda/Californian girls) Both of these are fab driving bands! We also keep the best of Queen,Bowie,Elton & Stevie Wonder to hand in the car, along with The White Stripes & The Kaiser Cheifs. The new Chili Peppers CD is out soon,so I am sure that will take over in the CD player for a while
Chicken on a mission
Radio 2 for me until it goes all weird (sort out your identity Radio 2) when I put Ocean FM on (and easy listening local station with the best of the last 3 decades). I am going to sound really sad but has anyone else ever wished that TV was broadcast on the radio? I don't tend to actually watch TV, I just listen to it whist doing other things like posting on here
Guest
Chicken on a mission - I have never heard anyone else say that! I always wish TV programmes were on the radio, like they used to be in hospital, which is where I came across it. I am also usually doing something else while watching TV (eg ironing). But it would be nice to be able to listen to programmes while you are travelling (esp. Soaps where you know the voices and don't really need to see the picture to know what's happening. At least you could keep up with the story-line a bit )
Guest
I listen almost exclusively to the radio in the car - I have just installed a DAB radio in the car - fantastic! in the car CD player at the moment is Bjork - Homogenic. Chicken on a mission
Thanks for backing me up Ginette I was in 2 minds whether to post or not in fear of being seen as a bit of a sad case. Now there are 2 of us
Guest
There's always someone else, I'm sure of that. I came to conclusion a long time ago that I wasn't particularly special or different and there will always be others thinking the same thing. (Maybe not many others and we may not actually discover them! ) Glad to have found you!!!

Linda
Yes, that bad word in an otherwise lovely song is rather unfortunate. I mostly listen to Radio2 or Radio4 while driving, but always have a selection of CDs to play too. Nice to hear The Beach Boys mentioned earlier - my girls love singing along to them in the car! We also like Coldplay, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, James Blunt, Maroon 5, Ryan Adams, Pink Floyd or anything else that is anyone's flavour of the month! ali-s
In the car today I have been listening to Madonna's latest CD. If Jack is with me it is usually Metalica or Guns and Roses. Natalie likes U2. When both children are with me I usually listen to them bickering My radio packed in a while ago when 2 Tornado jets flew very low right over the car . One minute I was listening to radio one and then suddenly nothing
Guest
Perhaps you need to replace it with a DAB radio Ali?
