Lorax
Now that you kind people have helped me choose my chickens, what colour Eglu should I get? I'm thinking green is the most tactical, and also has the best re-sale value? Hopefully in a year or so, we should be able to trade up to a Cube, so I've got to keep half an eye on what will sell well. My husband also wants it to be not too conspicuous so wants green. My daughter wants pink. I fancy purple. Please help this indecisive family...
chelsea
ORANGE is fabulous and looks really zesty and vibrant amongst the garden.
matt_b
Green is indeed the most popular colour, but our Eggsperts assure me that chooks actually lay best in a Pink eglu! Our limited editions seem particularly good at holding their value, so I might suggest going for our current guest colour, a lovely shade of Lilac. Lorax
Matt, where can I see the guest colour?
chelsea
when we had the green and the orange eglu together the girls would always lay in the orange one!! The orange one is quite light inside. We bought the purple cube because its darker inside and a darker cube = quieter hens in the summer months/light mornings.
Cinnamon
The orange is gorgeous - looks like a big fat gumdrop sitting in the garden It is also lovely & glowy inside....its by far my favourite colour
Cooks
Well I love Orange.. but I love all the colours (except pink) I am not a pink girlie, but I cant understand that little girls would like this colour..
Omletina Kyckling
I like Eglus in the brighter colours as the design is so striking, so I have a red one....but I love my green cube as it's a bigger block of plastic so it blends in better in green, I think. I think it all comes down to personal preference, they all look great in my mind...
Mrs Frugal
One of each as it's too hard to choose between them all . I have an old green Eglu and a lovely purple Cube and they look fabulous but the lilac is divine too and if I had to choose again............well I couldn't choose . cammy73
Pink is the best!!! sharon x
StephanieSB
I'm partial, of course, as it was my own choice, but... I think Lilac would be subtle enough for your husband's tastes and make the pink-loving girls still very happy (and it's still a shade of purple, to make you happy!). There're images in the Omlet shop of the lilac cube, but the only image I know of the lilac eglu is on ebay: here. But I was told all you need do is call Omlet and they can arrange for one of the remaining lilac eglus for you. As for resale value, I would think a rare or limited edition would always sell well, once they no longer stock that colour.
matt_b
Matt, where can I see the guest colour? Only the cube is currently on the shop, but you can get a good idea of the colour here
Mrs Frugal
See, they all look so good together! How do you choose .
Helly Welly
I think any of the colours has a good resale value. I've had red, purple and orange so far and they're all gorgeous. Aren't we helpful! I definately wouldn't pick pink, i hate pink, and the green is too boring for such a wacky design as the eglu.
Lorax
I'm actually more confused now than ever but thank you to all those that answered and if anyone else has thoughts please keep them coming!
redfrock
I have purple and lilac cubes. I like the lilac but I love the purple. The girls use the purple as their bedroom and the lilac as their nesting box I previously had a pink and purple eglu. I preferred the purple. Rhapsody
I've said it before and I'll say it again- men always want a green one, isnt it good we are here to put a bit of colour in their lives? I like every colour except green and pink, my new orange one is unbelievably gorgeous! As for resale, I looked for a pre-loved eglu on e-bay but they were all green, which I definitely didn't want... Adams Egg
Whatever colour you choose just wait till you see the results when you coat the roosting bars in Plastidip, it gives it the final finishing touch and makes it easy to clean It comes in several bright colours to match or contrast the Eglu. google plastidip for the website, its a type of coating that is safe to animals and everthing washes off easily Edited June 5, 2008 by Guest
