I'm covering the flowery border tiles in the shower with mosaic tiles.

I started to grout them with white grout - and I'm not sure it looks right, it seems to take something away from the tiles............

I've de-grouted them while I think about it.....and ask on here - it took four times longer to get the wet grout out than it did to grout them

I could try a dark grey grout......... the floor is dark grey slate effect lino.....the rest of the bathroom is boring beige, but a great improvement on the original orangey/terracotta  .

I actually like the original border, not very helpful I know!

Is 'pebble' the same hue as the other tiles? If so, I'd go with that colour.

Oooohhh, where did you get those? They are LOVELY! We're supposed to be finishing our downstairs dumping ground, sorry downstairs shower / toilet and have so far spent two afternoons disagreeing about a) what I liked versus what OH liked and b) what we could afford. Those are really lovely. I reckon dark grey grout but anything apart from white would be good.

They are so 8)

I think probably the darker colour - grey, BUT they will dull down whichever one you use surely? They only look so jewel like because the light can get around their side edges at the moment, once you've grouted the sides will be occluded so no light. Does that make sense? Maybe try a small patch with both to compare them? :?:D

That's what I was thinking! Maybe I'll leave them without grout!!

Thank you all for helping.

I think the photo has taken them out of context which doesn't help. As I said, the floor is dark and most of the towels are Mocha. I do have some small fuschia towels and some small purple towels. The room opens off the bedroom which is painted a pale lilac/lavender colour - quite a cold colour, not warm.

Carl has picked up some dark grey grout on his way home - I'll give it a go......... anything to save having to mix some more of the pebble

The tiles were from Stratford Tile Warehouse - £17.50 per 12" sheet - which is why I couldn't put six rows of tiles and cover all of the border tile!
