Egluntyne
Vile here too. I really fancied spending the afternoon sorting out my veg plot too.
gooner.girl
I had to cancel sports day this morning... Wasn't raining heavily but the track was wet and slippery. Can't say that it was a great shame for me except we have to do it next Wednesday instead now....
Lailapet
Come to Denmark then! We've got sunshine, blue sky and little fluffy white clouds! A bit too much wind to make it "gorgeous" but my favourite kind of weather. Went to see Bon Jovi play in a field far from everything on Thursday night. He mentioned the fact that it was still bright sunshine at 10pm! Love this time of the year apart from the fact that I can't get the kids to go to bed when it's still light! Jules.
It's Alexander's sports day on Wedesday too, Helen. Last year we sat in fleeces to watch it

Cinnamon
There was a bit about the Stonehenge thing on TV yesterday It says it was yesterday on 2 of my calendars too, but maybe they are wrong? I never argue with anyones Mum! Edited June 21, 2008 by Guest
Egluntyne
I'm tempted to put the heating on. I can remember a debate on the forum last year about whether the longest day was 20th or 21st. I think we decided it was a bit of a moveable feast.
Jules.
I think it was me who started the topic off last year "Mid summer day" , the "longest day" or whatever is always significant for me, I just don't like it when the evenings start to get darker ever so slightly earlier
Christian
My calendar says yesterday as well It is normally the 21st, but as this year was a leap year it knocks things out

ubereglu
Well it's dryish here today-just showery really, but very windy. It's not as windy as Solstice weekend like last year when we went to the Omlet Gathering and had to crash at Mel and Paul's house!

little chickadee
My friend has got a pagan wedding going on today. We're not there for the jumping around in a circle bit in the rain though
Cooks
I have a bad knee and have just lugged myself around the supermarket to get the food in...so.. I am thinking about putting the log burner on and sitting and vegging out for a while in front of the tv. (hubby had a headache and was in bed) theres me limping around pushing a full trolley almost in tears with my 10 year old helping me and him in bed... he's not got any brownie points for that one! Snowy
Perfect logburner weather isn't it! If only I don't feel the same about putting the gas fire on. Will just have to stick another fleece on instead
