So annoyed with myself

As you all know I am not a baker :oops:

 

I have a glut of eggs and at the weekend since it was so miserable I decided to make a victoria sponge cake :shock:

 

I used the egg weight method and the sponges came out looking fine which doesn't with me always mean they will taste fine :lol:

 

I cooled them and made up some butter cream icing and sandwiched it with strawberry jam 8)

 

You are all wondering where this is going aren't you :lol:

 

I brought it into work this morning as I don't really eat alot of cake 8)

No the cake came out of the tin and hit the deck :cry:

 

Car park is too gravelly to try to save any and we have lots of wild rabbits about here who seem to get Myxi so not worth the risk :evil:

 

The staff were gutted (mind you they have never eaten one of my cakes :lol: )

 

I promised to do another one tonight :roll:

Oh how frustrating, Louise, after you went to all that trouble :( . I dropped the top layer of Ollie's birthday cake on the kitchen floor on Saturday as I was trying to put it on the cooling rack and as the floor wasn't exactly clean :oops: I had to bake another cake to replace it :roll: . So annoying, isn't it.

I have made another one :roll:

 

It is in the tea room awaiting a brave soul to taste it :lol:

 

I had tried the one yesterday and knew it was edible but by the time it was ready last night it was way too late for me to be eating anything sugary so this one will be a surprise :?

Another half an hour before lunch here :lol:

 

I will cut it at lunchtime so people can have some :lol: there is one person who tends to be a bit precious with things and it can be a little intimidating to the others but I don't care so it will get cut soon - honest 8)
