Omletina Kyckling
It's absolutely siling down here, we've had about 20mm of rain overnight and my old house doesn't like it when it rains, and gives in and leaks. So the buckets and bowls are out, and the towels too....oh deep joy. We need new guttering but the quote was about £3k for the guttering and a further £2k min for scaffolding as we are three storey. We've decided to leave it until Guy finishes in Sweden and we'll do it ourselves to try and save a bit, but until then whenever it rains, I'm on bucket duty. As a result, I'm miserable on days like this....

MedusA
Yup! Pouring here too. I wanted to go up to the allotments and weed today. Only upside is that at least everything is getting watered.

Mrs Frugal
I think of you and your buckets when it rains, Diane! I should think they're filling up fast today as it's coming down really heavily! Good luck!! I hope that you can get the leaks sorted out soon as it must be miserable listening to "drip drip drip" all the time.
Rona
It's chucking it down here too but I can now tell by the waterfalls which bits of the gutters need cleaning out.

Ain't Nobody Here
We had 3 days of constant torrential rain (and had no electricity for 19 hours as a result ) but it's brightened up - a bit - now . Hope your rain moves on soon!
Seagazer
Lots of rain earlier, then sunshine but clouding over now. We've been out and done some shopping. MIL's birthday and she's coming over for dinner later (hubby away working). YS has been asked by MIL to make her a birthday cake so he's currently doing that. We don't mind being inside for a while. Will have to take Cookie out later though - just hope its not raining then. She's off to groomers tomorrow
The Dogmother
I'd heard about the rain in your area Vicky (and Louise) - I hear that there were landslides It has been raining very heavily here since 3am (woke me up!), and only stopped around 9am. we've now got lots of blue sky, some big clouds, but sunshine and a stiff wind... not exactly summer weather! AnnieP
Oh, now I feel guilty! We had amazing rain in the night, which woke me up, but this morning has been lovely, blowy and sunshine. I actually got some sheets dried on the line and got the rabbit outdoors for a couple of hours (poor thing has been couped up in her cage most of the summer holiday in my living room: Bet she can't wait to get back to the classroom and freedom... she is driving my dogs nuts)! However, to even out the balance, it is clouding over now and rain is threatening. I am busy in the kitchen making bread and courgette and potato soup for a very special visitor arriving tomorrow... chickencam
It tipped down here over night until about 9am then the sun came out for a while then it tipped down again now the sun is poking through again. I have washing dripping on the line We did manage to dig up most of our potatoes yesterday evening with one break for heavy rain which turned everywhere slippery but the children enjoyed getting as muddy as possible, even though some of them are old enough to know better They are now drying on the garage floor. The potatoes that is I've got so much washing to do this week added to by muddy allotment clothes , we all need to do a sun dance.
