MedusA Posted October 20, 2008 Share Posted October 20, 2008 I am loving Diana, Laura, Alexandra, Austin, JLS and sometimes Scott (he was good on Saturday, unlike last week). I absolutely loved Austin's version of Billie Jean. I really do not like Rachel, but I'm sure she'll be in it a few more weeks at least. Although I love Daniel as a person, he is not the best singer and will go soon. I thought Oeghan sang badly on Saturday too - out of tune in several places. Ruth had better put the Spanish back in if she wants Simon to keep her in, which is a little unfair, as she is lovely too. I am so glad Girlband went. I thought they were awful, as were Girls Aloud. I can't repeat what I said to DD about Nicola's look, but "plastic" and "scary" featured along with some less kind descriptions. If they had been contestants, they would have been out for sure! There's something about cry baby men which irritates me. I'm glad Girlband went as they were hopeless this week. I can't understand why Daniel didn't make the bottom 3 though. I think Daniel and Eoghan will be in the bottom two tonight. Omletina Kyckling Posted October 25, 2008 Share Posted October 25, 2008 I wish somebody would pin Diana's hands down at her side....they are permanently up around her face when she sings and I find it really off putting....they look like they're stuck in her hair!! I like her but I'm starting to think her style is a bit contrived? Thought Eoghan was very weak tonight, and didn't think that the JLS song worked. I wasn't sure about Laura's interpretation of God Bless the Child either. I'm a big Billie Holiday fan and thought she belted it out a bit too much for my liking.... I can't make up my mind about Diana, she has something, but I'm not sure what it is. I said to my OH tonight that it's a bit like "the Emperor's new clothes" Do we just think she is good because she is a bit different? That said, I know her name and don't know many of them at all. Omletina Kyckling Posted October 25, 2008 Share Posted October 25, 2008 This sounds awful but in a way I'm glad he took it so badly, and I don't actually mean that nastily, but in the last 20 minutes, his attitude was really annoying me....he just looked so arrogant and cocky when they were reading the names out and then he looked the same after he'd sung, so to see him so emotional at going made him seem human again! I didn't think either of them were very good in the sing off, but I think that Daniel's sad story helped him through, as his off key notes could be blamed on emotion, whereas Scott's couldn't...... chelsea Posted October 26, 2008 Share Posted October 26, 2008 Agree with some of the comments above Scott was annoying me when they were announcing the names,...he kept shaking his head all the way through (he was defeatist from the outset), and just to stand there at the end hands by his side, head bowed (he was lucky to even get on the show!), he didnt even thank the people who voted for him and for that reason I am glad Louis sent him home. Daniel isnt as good as the rest of him but his emotional performance of that lovely song won me over for the time being. (he'll probably go next week). Diana is still getting on my nerves, throughout the whole performance I moan to hubby how much she annoys me to the point where OH is going "alright, alright I get it - you dont like her!!" , she does sound like Cilla Black and her barefeet, demure act on the swing was dull. Last year was a dead loss, I only think Leon won because people were confused and thought they were still voting with Leona (perhaps somebody called Leo should enter, they'd be bound to win), but the general standard last year wasn't so good. The women this year hardly hit a duff note and there are some great voices there. It should be an interesting competition as the weeks go on!!
