Guest
just thought you'd like to see how our run has progressed and changed over the last 10 months just before the girls came, approx sept last year http://www.liverpoolpoet.talktalk.net/run1.JPG with run completed http://www.liverpoolpoet.talktalk.net/outside2.JPG we found it difficult to get in and clean the run so Ian raised the roof! http://www.liverpoolpoet.talktalk.net/rerun.JPG then Bea came along so we decided more space was needed http://www.liverpoolpoet.talktalk.net/newrun1.jpg and then these were taken today, we've moved the herbs from the bottom of the garden to near the run to brighten it up and to make them easier to access. Still a few jobs to do, like finish painting the fence but I think it looks great but then I'm biased! http://www.liverpoolpoet.talktalk.net/290808.8.jpg http://www.liverpoolpoet.talktalk.net/290808.1.jpg http://www.liverpoolpoet.talktalk.net/290808.4.jpg http://www.liverpoolpoet.talktalk.net/290808.6.jpg http://www.liverpoolpoet.talktalk.net/290808.10.jpg **edit** forgot to add this one http://www.liverpoolpoet.talktalk.net/290808.7.jpg I'd advise anyone starting out, start BIG!!!! nikplus
That looks great. I can understand you temptation, too. We've only got three ladies to date, but we're already thinking about extending our Eglu Cube. I can see us building a 12ft square enclosure before too long... Guest
thank you All thanks to the other half, I just sit back and admire his handy work Oh, btw, I read that basil, lavender, mint and lemon scented herbs like lemon thyme and lemon balm can help deter flies so that was another reason we shifted all the herbs to near the run. A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Super! We're not even a week into chicken-keeping and we're having the same conversations already! Expansion, expansion, expansion. Who says the housing market is in crisis? It isn't for chickens! Edited August 30, 2008 by Guest

josephine77
Wow it looks brilliant! Just goes to show, keeping chickens doesn't have to make your garden look untidy...unlike mine!! Love the hanging baskets on the side, that's a fab idea.

Guest
Fabulous run! your garden is so neat and tidy too. You can still have a lovely garden when you've got chooks eh! Absolutely! But don't be fooled, there was chicken poop and aubiose all over the patio until DH tidied up However, tidying takes a few minutes. Our girls get to free range too but they don't do anything that can't be rectified with a brush and a hosepipe
cluckbok
Same for us Poet, hosepipes are wonderful things!
