Egluntyne
We've had the most breathtaking sunset here tonight. Red, pink, gold and purple streaks. Could I find my camera, so that I could share it with you all? Could I heckerslike.

Egluntyne
It is so foggy here this morning that I can barely make out the bottom of the garden.
Old Speckled Hen
Started very misty after horrid rainy day yesterday. Sunshine and blue skies now. Still and cold. Smoke from the chimney is going straight up ... isn't that just a lovely sight? Frosty and snow on the tops. Coniston and The Langdales quite white; shining in the sun back-dropped by blue sky they look enchanting. Rooks are raucously jousting in the rookery. A wonderful winter's morning

The Dogmother
sounds lovely! swap with you? I am offering fog and damp trees? Me too Natasha; freezing fog, bitingly cold and grumpy chickens Sorry guys, but being a tropical bird, I prefer sunshine, even if it's cold. I can't stand this damp drippy stuff. Ardene5
Hi Everyone. First of all a BIG Thank You to all that voted in the People Millions to help RED MARSH SPECIAL SCHOOL as they have WON £50,000 to help them make a special garden that all the children of 2 special schools can share. Here in Preesall near Blackpool we have had freezing fog all day. So some trees looked like they had snow on them when the fog lifted for about 1 hour today. Hope it had been better around the UK. Best regards Ian Ian & Valerie William & HARRY also RED MARSH SPECIAL SCHOOL Missy & Millie dogs 9 lovely hens Henian Castle with inside it. Egluntyne
Here in Sheffield, 95 miles from Blackpool the frost is so heavy that I thought it had been snowing when I first looked out of the window this morning. Blue sky, pink clouds and bright sunshine now..

abwsco
First time the glug has been frozen today here in sunny St Annes. The girls are not impressed although the younger ones have decided that they like the frozen rhododendrom leaves and are attacking it with gusto

Ardene5
Hi Everyone Time now 10 am and here in Preesall near Blackpool we have no fog now but a heavy frost. A cold sun is beginning to shine. The hens went for a quick dash around the garden but quickly went back to the warmth of the Henian Castle which has warm horse bedding on the floor. Had to defrost the water this morning considering we live 400 yards from the beach means it is quiet cold. How is it around the rest of the UK? Old Speckled Hen
Sunny and frosty this morning. Everything frozen in the run but chooks all nice and cosy eager to get out. Good view of Jupiter and Venus last night so hoping for clear skies tonight as the crescent moon joins them. Off to crunch through the frost on the fells with the dogs then a hearty late lunch in the pub. Wonderful.
Blackrocksrock
Minus 5.8 yesterday morning but only minus 3 today - frost not lifted and very crunchy and lovely to look out but very cold - bit of a wind to-day so chill factor worse. Blackrocksrock
Its started snowing - huge flakes of lovely snow and if it continues we should have loads by the morning! Will suit the skiers up here anyway. The girls wont like it and the cats will hate it again as they dont like cold feet! I love to see the girls footprints in the snow - prehistoric creatures

I was born in Sheffield and I can remember snow 10 ft deep. I took my driving test in snowy conditions and I miss the lovely white stuff!!!
