Valkyrie
It's been nice here too, although clouded over now. Quite tropical compared with what we've had lately!

Ardene5
Hi Weather watchers, Here in Preesall near Blackpool we have had wall to wall rain or sleet or hail all day. The wind has been strong to gale force. How has it been with you wherever in the world you are? Best regards Ian & Valerie
The Dogmother
The early frost soon melted and it has been grey and grim most of the day, but much warmer than of late.
fowlbird
I forgot to mention... it was blue skies and sunshine all the way today... we'll pay for it later of course

Old Speckled Hen
Did anyone else notice how bright the moon was last night? It looked amazing, you could see every little detail here! That's because the moon was at its perigee. Its orbit around earth is eliptical and twice a year it comes close to to us and will appear 14% larger than when it's at its apogee(furthest) Today has been 8 degrees and it has been pouring with rain ALL DAY. Windy too.

Egluntyne
Same here. More of next doors fence is in my garden. I think they are away too. Darn it.
Valkyrie
Egluntine if it carries on like this, hopefully by tomorrow morning that fence will be in your other neighbours garden and yours will be clear! I always worry about next door's lime tree - it sheds branches like there's no tomorrow, last time a huge branch narrowly missed their car. Also it leans over another neighbours house and they get extremely worried - a couple of feet more and the branch would have landed on their garage. Lesley
I think if it carries on that Egluntine's fence will be down here - and on its way to Reading
Ardene5
Not the flight of the bumble bees more like the flight of the fences Do not tell everyone else they'll all want one Have fun Hope no one had problems from this storm. Groovychook
Very strong winds overnight, dark and overcast at 8am and very wet. About 4" of rain has collected in my wheelbarrow!
The Dogmother
Not been too bad here compared with some of your stories; windy, but not overly so. It had been raining heavily when I got up, but now just blustery drizzle. +7.8deg
Egluntyne
Very dull, grey and wet here this am. 9 degrees, but doesn't feel it. Next door's fence is a sorry sight this morning.
jackiepoppies
What storms? Clear blue skies, brilliant sunshine and -7! Jackiex
Valkyrie
Ooh la la, lucky Jackie - please send some over. Not much rain, just very fine stuff - and since I have just looked out the window the fine stuff is now heavier and more penetrating. Still gusty but not as bad as last night. fowlbird
strong winds all last night, dull and damp this morning - it must have rained although I missed it - Oxfordshire shrouded in mist again BBC reckons 10º and rain today... I apologise for my smugness yesterday, obviously that's what influenced today's weather
chickencam
It's really dark here with heavy rain and strong winds. I know that we need some rain. but frankly I would rather have the cold bright stuff back

Seagazer
Its awful being so dark isn't it. Very depressing. Its drizzly here and a bit windy. I noticed that a neighbour's fence has blown over a couple of doors up but to be honest I think if I had blown on it it would have fallen over

Old Speckled Hen
11 degrees here, dull and overcast and with all the rain falling on frozen ground yesterday there are a few road closures due to localised flooding. Kent burst its banks at Milnthorpe. Chooks are enjoying being able to scratch about.
