Omletina Kyckling
Bad news folks, this is quick and easy.... 5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE These are American measures...can't think it would change much to use Imperial/metric, though. 4 tablespoons flour 4 tablespoons sugar 2 tablespoons cocoa 1 egg 3 tablespoons milk 3 tablespoons oil 3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional) Small splash of vanilla extract 1 large coffee mug Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly. Pour in the milk and oil and mix well. Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again. Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts. The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed! Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired. EAT! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous). I'm told it's delicious with vanilla ice cream! And why is this the most dangerous cake recipe in the world? Because now we are all only 5 minutes away from chocolate cake at any time of the day or night!

Omletina Kyckling
My friend who gave me the recipe uses a tall, big coffee mug, I used a cereal bowl....it makes more of a pudding kinda cake which you would eat with cream or ice cream warm....not sure what it would be like warm.....also not sure it'd last until it cools!! A chickychickychick-ENN!!
Oh. My. God. I can never let my boyfriend see this! We have mugs! We have ingredients! He is a cake fiend! Anna x
Milly
I wish I had seen this earlier tonight, before I made some chocolate brownies. They were easy to make, but this sounds even quicker and easier! But my microwave doesn't do 1000watts. I suppose I'll just need to cook it for a bit longer. Olly
Oh noooooo! This sounds extremely dangerous. You know those evenings when you've had your tea but you still feel as if you want something else ... that's why I never buy biscuits, but I've always got these ingredients in the cupboard. I'm going to forget I ever read this. well, maybe I should just try it once, to see if it really works ...

Egluntyne
I may have to ban you from the forum for posting that Omletina! It must qualify for a warning surely! From the no of posts, there is certainly a need for this kind of highly nutritious recipe.....and it has an egg in it!
Lesley
Very nutritious....and very filling..... I had to test this - in the interest of forum safety you understand........... I made the mix in a bowl as i wasn't sure of the size of mug needed........ I used the largest mug I have - alongside an ordinary sized mug in this photo....... Very scary in the microwave..... (yes, I do use brown kitchen paper, it isn't dirty) The finished cake - you could share it....but it saves on washing up if you just dig in with a spoon I used level tablespoons of sugar and SR flour and added a good dollop of Camp coffee in with the milk (slightly less milk) I cooked it for 3 mins at 900W - slightly on the dry side but obviously fine with cream
