Mrs Webmuppet
Ah but do you have a cunning plan? Have you noticed how many Blackadder phrases have made it into everyday speach.......

KimmyCustard
I love it too and have got all the series on DVD, never get sick of the Pixie Song, Lord Percy and his 'purest green', Nursie and her udders and Queenie - having an absolutely scrummy dream about ponies! OH gets cross though cos I can finish their sentences and steal the punchline....... Kimmy x
Guest
Funny I have this on by accident. TBH I didn't really enjoy all of them but I loved the WW1 series. WIBBLE!

Ain't Nobody Here
Fantastic - OH and I loved it . Here are some choice quotes for all you fans out there (in the Guardian's TV guide this week!) Many of them are in common useage in the ANH household . Baldrick, you wouldn't see a subtle plan if it painted itself purple and danced naked on top of a harpsichord, singing "Subtle plans are here again!" The eyes are open, the mouth moves, but Mr Brain has long since departed, hasn't he, Percy? Baldrick "My lord, I've been in your family since 1582" Blackadder "So has syphillis, now get out" He's mad! Mad I tell you! He's madder than Mad Jack McMad, the winner of last year's Mr Madman Competition! Blackadder "Baldrick, your brain is like the four-headed, man-eating haddock fish beast of Aberdeen." Baldrick "In what way?" Blackadder "It doesn't exist." Blackadder "What are you wearing round your neck?" Percy "Ah! It's my new ruff!" Blackadder "You look like a bird that's swallowed a plate." stoice
Aaaah Darling! Meeeeh! (Said in plummy-General-Melchit-type-accent) Classic. Thwarted in all his attempts to escape the doomed mission, Blackadder's intended response is unrepeatable Loved every episode. My favourite series was definitely Blackadder goes forth. little chickadee
Just reading those quotes had me shaking with laughter. It's the Queenie series which will always be the one for me. I never really enjoyed the "Goes forth" series which lots of people seem to like the best. I still can't quite believe it when I see a picture of Tony Robinson now. I forget that he has aged

dancing cloud
I don't have Sky but loved Blackadder (second series always my favourite) and a couple of christmases ago bought the boxed set for a friend. She's such a good friend, she let me borrow it I so identified with Queenie and her wonderful ability to smile sweetly and tell people doing things she didn't like that she'd cut their heads off - i just have to think it to myself and make sure I don't say it aloud And there's always a cunning plan ... Ain't Nobody Here
I've got a plan so cunning you could put a tail on it and call it a weasel . (Or have I just made that one up myself ? )
Paola
Am I the only one that cried at the end of the last episode of Blackadder goes forth? I thought that it was sooooo sad when they went over the top
Yorkshire Pudding
Am I the only one that cried at the end of the last episode of Blackadder goes forth? I thought that it was sooooo sad when they went over the top No you're not! I blubbed for ages, it was so poignant. I really like the Elizabethan series best. Nursie and her great big lovely udders always had me ROFLMAO. My sons are a bit too young for Blackadder yet, but OH introduced them to the Black Knight scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail last week. You know the one -'It's only a flesh wound!' They have been acting it out in the school playground ever since. Good job he didn't show them some of the other clips.......
Mutrix Farmers
Am I the only one that cried at the end of the last episode of Blackadder goes forth? I thought that it was sooooo sad when they went over the top me too! Son was recently introduced to the delights of Blackadder. He's doing GCSE History and his teacher told the class that series 4 a very accurate representation of life in the trenches and the relationships between officers and men! Son then spotted series 2 and 4 for sale at a charity coffee morning and bought both sets. He thinks it is hilarious! He has suggested that series 5 could be set in space!!!!! "Sir I have a cunning plan!!"
Cinnamon
My daughter has been watching it in history too - it must be pretty good for them to use it in school! Just watched it with Cleo, & we both hooted. I had forgotten so much about it, & it was great to see FLASH again, who was my favourite character WOOF!!!!! No MacAdder or Mrs Miggins though - shame

jlo
I awlays thought it really strange that Rowan Atkinson can be so-o-o- ugly in the first series but really rather dishy in the following ones! Love Blackadder as does DS. OH and DD don't quite get it!
