I love it too and have got all the series on DVD, never get sick of the Pixie Song, Lord Percy and his 'purest green', Nursie and her udders and Queenie - having an absolutely scrummy dream about ponies!

 

OH gets cross though cos I can finish their sentences and steal the punchline.......

Here are some choice quotes for all you fans out there (in the Guardian's TV guide this week!) Many of them are in common useage in the ANH household .

Just reading those quotes had me shaking with laughter. It's the Queenie series which will always be the one for me. I never really enjoyed the "Goes forth" series which lots of people seem to like the best. I still can't quite believe it when I see a picture of Tony Robinson now. I forget that he has aged

I don't have Sky but loved Blackadder (second series always my favourite) and a couple of christmases ago bought the boxed set for a friend. She's such a good friend, she let me borrow it

 

I so identified with Queenie and her wonderful ability to smile sweetly and tell people doing things she didn't like that she'd cut their heads off - i just have to think it to myself and make sure I don't say it aloud

No you're not! I blubbed for ages, it was so poignant.

 

I really like the Elizabethan series best. Nursie and her great big lovely udders always had me ROFLMAO.

 

 

 

My sons are a bit too young for Blackadder yet, but OH introduced them to the Black Knight scene from Monty Python and the Holy Grail last week. You know the one -'It's only a flesh wound!'

 

They have been acting it out in the school playground ever since.

 

Good job he didn't show them some of the other clips.......

Son was recently introduced to the delights of Blackadder. He's doing GCSE History and his teacher told the class that series 4 a very accurate representation of life in the trenches and the relationships between officers and men! Son then spotted series 2 and 4 for sale at a charity coffee morning and bought both sets. He thinks it is hilarious! He has suggested that series 5 could be set in space!!!!!

Just watched it with Cleo, & we both hooted.

I had forgotten so much about it, & it was great to see FLASH again, who was my favourite character

I awlays thought it really strange that Rowan Atkinson can be so-o-o- ugly in the first series but really rather dishy in the following ones!
