Cinnamon
I know,I know....it's a bit sad isn't it? But I saw a blown Ostrich egg at the Farmers market today which I know Cleo will love, then as I was in a festive frame of mind, picked up a couple of stocking fillers too I think I need a lie down

Guest
I've already got all my cards, paper and tags for this christmas. Me and Caity sat with pinking shears (I think thats what they are called) and cut up last years Christmas cards to make this years gift tags, and we bought a job lot of brown paper in a sale when our local post office closed and we sat and used potatos to print stars and Christmas trees in silver and gold on it. the cards were bought for 20p in the New Year Sales, and I got some make your own crackers for 75p. Guest
When I was a Trainee manager for Scottish and Newcastle, I was put in a lovely place called The Maybury over Christmas and New Year. It was a banqueting centre, and specialised in weddings, and of course party nights at Christmas. We worked non-stop from the last Saturday in November until the first Saturday in January, with pensioners lunches during the day, and office parties at night - 7 days a week, 8:30am till 3:30 am most days, so when the first Monday after the last Saturday party came, I was looking forward to a managers meeting full of fun spring and summer discussions about weddings and conferences. I sat down with the rest of the management team and the general mananger started the meeting by saying, 'Right, THIS Christmas we're looking to put the staff in these uniforms to go with a nautical theme', and we then had to sit through a 4 hour meeting about plans for the next christmas.... BAH HUMBUG!

kannie
I usually get my christmas cards in the new year sales, if i can. It's a matter of principle: I resent the profit margin they make on cards. Even when they're charity ones the charity gets a pittance.

Chicken on a mission
I'm sure I don't need to buy any christmas cards for this year but then I'm sure of that every year and guess what happens
Cate in NZ
Christmas.... in July I'm sure that you should be moderated for that post Sarah.... tantamount to swearing in my book I do buy cards and accessories in the January sales, then I store everything away and absolutely refuse to think about Christmas until October at the earliest, when I will start work on any home made Christmas things including the cake. Wasn't it Kaz who posted somewhere earlier this week about making Christmas presents already as well You're barmy the lot of you, it's summer, relax and enjoy..... and forget Christmas, it'll all be forced upon us soon enough
